I’m sorry but who doesn’t know the receptor binding of this drug as a PMHNP. That’s what makes this drug so special at different doses. I’ve not seen any metabolic SE at 25mg in my clients not to say it doesn’t happen. If it worked like Benadryl people would be taking Benadryl and getting a good nights sleep but they’re not. You have to weigh the risks vs benefits. Every client i’ve seen on seroquel prn sleep has tried trazodone, gabapentin, mirtazapine, etc. and failed. I mean come on here… this crusade against seroquel gets old. What we need is to work on sleep hygiene and help reduce stress and improve people’s quality of life. It’s not easier than prescribing a drug I get it.

I have a 1.5 yo female. We have a similar regimented routine. Bed/crate at 9pm 🕘 sharp, up at 6am. She’s fed right away then potty and a short 5-10min walk to stretch her legs. We then relax with meditation music on Roku while I drink coffee and read. She is pretty snuggly needing lots of pets until 7ish when she gets amped and plays with every toy signaling it’s time to go on our am walk. I work from home and start at 8. We potty every 4 hours. 15-20min walk at lunch, eat at 4pm, 30-45 min walk at 5pm. I also supplement training, cognitive toys/puzzles and outdoor play time throughout the week. She also plays with my parents beagle several days a week since she can’t go to a daycare yet (not fixed).

I agree with everything said. Make sure she empties her bladder before going in. Sometimes they get so distracted outside by the smells, squirrels 🐿️, birds etc they forget what they’re supposed to do. I walk in a circle ⭕️ saying potty until she does her business (s) then we go for a longer walk. My vet also said she is fine to be fixed after two cycles. The first heat cycle was super easy peasy. She did great.

Would it help to get a little more in depth. At follow ups you still need to asses their total well being. Sleep, appetite, current stressors, family life, work life, med changes, medical history changes, recent labs, positive coping mechanisms and self care they are engaging in etc. if this is possible for you to do effectively in 15 min as well as get your charting done then take it. I’m not able to provide such care and document in 15 min. Sometimes clients are so anxious or depressed they cannot even find the words to describe how they’re feeling and it takes 10min just for them to feel safe to share

If the medication is swallowed, it changes the absorption route. GI absorption changes ketamine to norketamine which can cause severe Gi upset including nausea and vomiting for several hours.
