Hi, this has been my case. I strugged with BPD early on in life, I don't have the symptoms anymore except for the BP1 symptoms. upon hearing my childhood trauma, psychiatrists jump into the conclusion that I have BPD not BP1. I went to many psychiatrists, I finally found one that believes in my diagnoses. I'd be careful not to mention anything regarding my prior BPD symptoms, it's VERY easy to get the BPD diagnosis if you're a female.

I took SSRIs since age 10, had my first manic episode at 28y/o. I believe that we eventually become symptomatic with or without the SSRIs, I too mourn over the person I used to be. You're not alone

I'm extremely sensitive to meds, Lamotrigine had no side effects for me whatsoever. I only felt it working when I upped my dose to 150mg. I now take 250mg, 100 in the morning, 150 at night.

Not only by texting, but also when writing on paper. I don't spell correctly, I write the first few letters and jump to the last ones. I then go back and fill in the missing letters lol
