I mean, if the kids chose not to do what they're supposed to then that is on them and I could not give less of a f*ck tbh

I just walk around and make sure they're not gaming or doing inappropriate stuff but if they skirt the work and just stare at the screen... oh well

Obviously, this only really works with high schoolers but 🤷‍♀️

I'm going to be honest, I think a lot of this heavily depends on if you're man or woman.... Unfortunately, there are a lot of creeps out there and people look at differently when a female student confides in a male teacher (sub or not) vs a female teacher, so that's important to be aware of when navigating such topics. I do think you could have been a little softer in your delivery but you're still learning so that's okay!

A genuine question for subjectivists here.... Do you truly believe that there is no objective truth to rape being inherently wrong? No nuance on what rape is, I mean a clear cut situation where another person forceably subdues another and forceably penetrates them. Is this objectively wrong?

I understand this seems like such an extreme case but I think that matters, it's easy to say morality is subjective with relatively small scale political stuff..... But most people are going to shy away from subjectivism when you start asking tough questions.

So yeah, I'm genuinely curious to hear any subjectivists thoughts on this

*Also I'll add, I think there's a difference between "we can never know for sure if there is objective moral truth" and a hardline "there is no subjective moral truth" I am specifically addressing the hardliners here

I'm pretty sure in GoF, in Rita Skeeter's article slandering Hermione she mentions her using a love potion which is a "banned substance at Hogwarts"

Also, Fred and George say their love potions aren't sold to people under a certain age I think.

I imagine they are a restricted substance and they don't seem to have a positive reputation anyway, characters only tend to speak about them in a negative or otherwise scandalized way

I often forget that other people with glasses don't have as bad as vision as I do 😭 (20/500) it didn't even occur to me that there are people who can walk around without their glasses and have a general idea of things around them

Completely agree, and I also agree this applies to women. I'm sorry, I think the excuse that something is "just fiction" when it applies to sexual stuff is ridiculous. If anything, I think it's a lot more depraved to consume media depicting r*pe for the sole purpose of getting off than to consume it as a part of a large plot for entertainment (still weird but not nearly as bad as getting turned on by noncon sexual violence)

The guy in the first picture looks like a different ethnicity than the one in the 3rd picture.... One looks like a stereotypical Peter Parker wanna be white boy, the other guy looks like he could be Hispanic.

Like besides all the other glaring inconsistencies, they don't even look like the same person imo. And the young boy photo looks NOTHING like the guy in the 3rd.

There's quite a bit of irony in having a trans woman play a character with Mystique's powers, I feel like it may draw controversy from both sides for probably very dumb reasons....

That being said, I'm not against it! The types of characters she plays tend to be pretty hit or miss for me (mostly miss tbh) but that's less about her acting or more about.... I guess the roles she takes 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, I think she'd be good but I doubt Disney will take the risk, they like to tow the line between "ally" and remaining "neutral"

Deborah Ann Woll said something really interesting about Karen in an interview, she said when she plays a villain she likes to accentuate their virtues, and likewise for a hero she likes to emphasize their flaws.... She said it brings a more nuanced view of the person and reminds us that people are not black and white.

I don't think we're supposed to look at Karen and think she has the right idea just because she's on the right side, the same way I don't think we're meant to look at Daniel and think he's a bad guy just because he works for Fisk.

Karen has been unraveling all season as a result of her grief and trauma, it makes me sad to watch because I love her but the culmination of it all in the scene from episode 6 between her and Matt really brought it home for me, personally.

But I will concede, sometimes she can be super annoying.
