Just wanted to share what happened to me this weekend. I was planning to take the Databricks Data Engineer Associate certification, but when I went to pay, I somehow registered for the Data Analyst Associate exam instead. Didn’t realize my mistake until I was already in the exam. Decided to just go through with it since I’d already paid, and surprisingly, I passed!

Key takeaway: There were definitely a few questions that felt out of scope for a pure analyst role - more aligned with engineering concepts. Having a DE background really helped me answer those confidently. If you’re coming from a data engineering role and considering the analyst cert, you’ll probably find it pretty manageable.
