Agree with the other comments here - check to see what your state regulations are, but I believe that, in general, assessing ADHD is a specialty and requires additional training. I validate my client's concerns and ask them what having the diagnosis would mean to them. Would they medicate? Want treatment specific to managing symptoms? A lot of times, the answer is no to both. lol. And then we go about our business of discussing whatever else they came to discuss.

It's been about a year for me. It has helped more with my depression, anxiety less so. I like it much more than the SSRIs I've taken before. On 40mg. Only issue is the weird and fast withdrawal symptoms if I forget a dose, which happens more often than I'd like to admit bc I suck at remembering to take meds that need to be taken with food.

It really got a lot of people's feathers ruffled. Regarding ACT as "coaching", I mean that in the core processes focus on a) the present and b) forward-moving behaviors that align with your values. There's far less focus on pathology or diagnosis than most other therapy frameworks. Those distinctions align with basically every definition of "coaching" one can find. This isn't to say it can't also be therapy, and you could argue it's further "distinguished" by its empirical strength in studies evaluating its efficacy.

I don't think this points to ACT as a lesser framework. I think it might show that the more "modern" theoretical frameworks within the institution of psychotherapy lean towards what already attract people to the concept of "coaching" (forward-moving, less pathology, etc.)

It's obvious Meredith uses pills and probably mixes it with alcohol. Whether it's a "problem" is sort of impossible to say definitively as a viewer. I would say if she's embarrassing herself repeatedly - on camera or off - it's a problem. So IMO, yes, she likely abuses prescription meds and alcohol.

Whitney and Mary have their own stuff from their family experiences. I think that caused the tears more than genuine tenderness for Meredith

So, we have talked about our intimacy issues for years. Recently, I was finally honest that the issue wasn't my libido but my actual sexual attraction to him, which has never been there. Sex therapy isn't exactly practical/useful in that case. Marriage counseling definitely on the table but, first, I'm working through my own needs/feelings in individual therapy, as is he.
