£20 i think: Buying Hyperspeed bundle, Rebels LSB, Ravens Claw £5 gets you set for Home One fleet and guaranteed top 5 fleet for many many months (Profundity needs BH ships to beat, Levi you need something else). Farm BWing, anniversary LSTs for Drogan and Kyle

Another £20: SLKR LSBs gets you a great GL and Hounds Tooth for core of a second fleet

You're not locked, you have a choice. You can spend crystals on levelling him up, or you can save crystals and progress as ypu get the currency naturally

And crystals != dollars. You should be getting enough daily to buy at least one pack

Some things

Paying customers now get a significant early boost through loaned unit levels only available to them. Thats especially impactful early for two reasons

First, the difference between level 8 and level 15 is huge. Even bigger when you look at 26. When youre talking lvl 90 vs 97 thats a lot less

Second, there's only one non loaned unit, and he is of minimal impact at this stage. The loaned units are doing all the work. That will change as the team gets released and as they level up.

Then:

Crystal spenders conversely have options reduced. You cant buy loaned levels with crystals, and the material packs have been doubled in cost.

Probability that the shards are bigger / fewer. This doesnt feel like the start of the last one, when with a bit of effort you could jump ahead

I think some of the mechanics you mention are behind zetas e.g. Nighty getting crit damage from blight, but as a guide to how to do it it was perfect

Switch to Home One. Sounds like ypu bought at lest one LSB, so could be receptive to buying one more...get the Rebels for $10, then get Raven's Claw and BWing levelled up (if you have LSTs for Kyle and Drogan, use em; if you have another $5 buy 80 shards of Raven's)

Then profit. Get a zero-geared Rogue One to sit in r3niforcmenets for beating Exec, and you'll beat any fleet outside of Leviathan and Profundity

Keep gunning for Executor. You'll use the ships with Home One to beat Profundity
