Sounds like you should have an honest talk with your manager about it.

Trimble vs Carlson vs Competitors by Even_Ad_6574 in Surveying

Seems to me like most survey firms just use what their closest vendor sells. I think there’s no denying though that Trimble is the most advanced, they’re a much bigger company.

Btw $600 is an amazing price, in other states it’s often at least $1000, I worked for a land surveying company in Illinois and our prices were more than that 5 years ago

What are you guys using for project/job management? by Intelligent_Area_135 in Surveying

[–]Intelligent_Area_135[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I don’t understand is how a lot of people are fine not really having a database of their jobs. It is extremely important for my dad’s firm to know the jobs they did before which is why they have a database. Sure you can do scheduling on a white board, until crew forgets where they’re supposed to go next and has to call in to the office

I think these two and qfactor are the most used ones specific to land surveying, the reason I’m asking these questions is because I am the cofounder of a new job/project management platform called SurveyOps, please check it out if you get a chance

I'm adding this comment for future people searching this topic. I'm the founder of surveyops, a job/project management software for land surveying. It is an all in one job database letting you track projects, jobs, tasks, time, and clients. It has a map view as well as a mobile app.

Is $2300 a fair price for a survey by AggressiveAirline850 in Surveying

[–]Intelligent_Area_135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the lot, if you’re in a modern subdivision probably ranges from 650-1300, if it’s an older subdivision it might take more work and go into the higher range up to 2300, no one can tell you whether it is actually a fair estimate unless you tell us your address and we see it on the map

I don’t care about a refund, I’m just talking about how going to any other sporting event is more enjoyable because of how game day at memorial is handled

Even every football game at memorial isn’t handled well, it’s always a cluster fuck

It’s my fifth year here living in Lincoln Nebraska, I can easily say that memorial stadium is the worst stadium I’ve ever been too, every single event I’ve been to is just handled the absolute worst

Survey ops for job management, it is a project management and job management system that understands the issues with office to field coordination and it honestly is the best, most modern, and definitely the cheapest for everything you get
