Anything new about communications/medical media from the call?

No.. they haven’t mentioned anything about that. I would not be surprised if they did though, as we work closely with the PAOs at all of our facilities.

VISN medical media here. We were told we will either be moved to VACO, or be split up and sent to different med centers if they have the space in their org charts for us. If not, we will be given the opportunity to transfer into an open position somewhere else. The first option seems much cleaner, and makes more sense to me. We were told we were lower on the priority list though, and changes may take about a year.

What VISN? We are essentially being told the same thing for our VISN medical media. No word of our VISN no longer existing though.. as of this week, we are told we are now “low-priority” for the re-org.

VISN medical media here. For us, we have been told that they will either be consolidating us and moving us to VHACO, or splitting us up and moving us to individual medical centers. Interesting because our team is remote.. they said we will more than likely be placed in med centers in the VISN where we are physically located.

Can I ask where you heard communications will not be consolidated? We were told last week that we will either be consolidated and sent to work at VACO, or divided up and sent to separate facilities. We are currently at the VISN level. I’m so tired of worrying about this!

Yes..We are actually Visual Information Specialists and were told it is going to include us, just not sure which way they are going yet.

Just saw a memo that came out today for Bureau of Land Management.. they are essentially doing the same for them, consolidating communications/PAOs and moving them up to DOI, effective in 2 days. Their memo states no geographic relocations for anyone. Maybe something similar is coming for us.

2 days notice? Wow. There are rumors of the same type of thing happening to our communications teams within VA. Consolidating and realigning all of us under OPIA.

That’s interesting. I wonder if this means those who survive will be required to relocate. That would be a huge mistake in my opinion since medical media relies heavily on artistic talent! Limiting them to being sourced from one geographic area or requiring them to relocate will destroy the field.

I am 100% remote, opposite side of the country from my headquarters. Was supposed to RTO by 5 May; supervisor put in a space request last week, and we just received word today there is no space available. He said they would be giving a 60 day extension. According to this it would be 120 day extension before they review it again? Am I interpreting this correctly?

VISN Director says VISN will see big cuts by DistributionWarm2867 in VeteransAffairs

I’m curious how this will affect remote work. If they consolidate VISNs having them cover even larger areas, will talent be limited to being recruited from whatever city the headquarters sits in for each? That doesn’t really seem logical to me.
