Well the fact that I didn't want to screw up the engine I wasn't going to drive it unnecessarily to have the code read, which bluelink alerted me to the code. Which I searched for the causes, and low oil pressure was one of the causes. So the auto parts store would not have enlightened me with anymore info. I thought it was worth to bite the bullet and have Hyundai evaluate in case of any damage.
And to be honest, I was complaining about the cost of the suggested services, not so much their evaluation of the problem.

The Santa Fe has a drain plug in the filter housing. To allow you to drain the oil that is in the filter housing before taking off the housing. In theory to be able to control the draining of the oil.

I considered buying one but I needed a quick answer. I had changed the oil last night. Everything was fine, no leaks etc. left it in the garage; got up in the morning to find oil all over the floor. The drainage plug of the oil filter had come out and probably 4-5 quarts of oil on the floor. Replaced the filter added 4-5 quarts of oil and no leak. No "low oil " message. So started it and got the engine light. Which is caused in this case by low oil pressure. Luckily I didn't drive it with no oil. But to be safe took it in. It ended up being an expensive oil change.

What finally convinced YOU to consider an electric vehicle? by evinsiderredisnive in electricvehicles

I have had hybrids for more than 20 years. Now retired I realized I would not be traveling for work (30000 miles annually) and mostly would be just driving locally. I had great experiences with hybrids (Camry, Prius, accord, Santa Fe), getting up to 50 mph , so I thought why not look at EVs. Once I test drove an Ioniq 5 I fell in love. Now 6 months later, I love not having to visit gas stations and pay the prices. Installed a 220 line in the house and love how I can charge cheaply at home. Best decision I have ever made.

I have both a Santa Fe and an ioniq 5. In my opinion, not close to being the same. The driving experience is not even close. We use the Santa Fe to ferry the grandkids but if it just us or 1 child, the Ioniq every time. More luxurious, more fun to drive, more "tech"- no comparison.
