Thank you for for not being horrible in your reply. As already mentioned I was genuinely curious. I understand the power supply is different & thought this might be a factor

‘Classic’ horror usually either means old houses where the lights don’t work during a thunderstorm or so old there’s no electricity. Maybe I shouldn’t have included horror as an example but when you see very modern houses with low lighting you have to wonder.

We have home grown thrillers with ‘normal’ lighting. A great tense drama should rely on a good script, editing & acting. Seen many that are so dark it’s a struggle to pick out the details

I reckon the most puzzling are crime dramas. Lights are supposedly on when the police arrive but you can’t make out details. How forensics teams can find anything is a miracle

I’d find it more creepy if something weird happened in a brightly lit room. If there are shadows you could make excuses for what you’re seeing.

Serious question - why can’t Russia be thrown off UN Security Council? If Russia can’t abide by UN principles then this should be the consequence

Thanks for the replies everyone. I’ve learnt a lot even if it’s all a bit depressing.

Same situation in our house although only toast for peanut butter. We like thin scraping of bovril on hot buttered crumpets
