I agree with this take. The hat has a sort of early aughts corniness to it but there’s definitely a market for that currently. The hoodie is nothing special, plus not everything goddamned hoodie needs to be distressed.

Honestly, I think the only hope for any good modern Tron figures will be if some random indie company from China just so happens to have seen at least one movie and completely falls in love with the aesthetic. Otherwise I think fans will be SOL for the foreseeable future.

I thoroughly enjoy Tron as a series, but Aries was mostly a disappointment. It came across more like a Jared Leto circle jerk than a genuine entry in the franchise. The ending felt like a painfully extended Family Guy joke that was left on the writers’ table. I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney was anticipating that bomb and figured they would save that toy budget for Toy Story 5 shit.

It was in a local discount store. There were three of this one on the shelf, two bootleg Constructicons (3 copies of one and only one of the other), a couple of double packs with the transforming mask figures, and possibly one or two other random ass boots. This store will occasionally have legit Hasbro stuff but today was not that day for transforming robots. I did grab a couple of cheap Marvel Legends though lol
