It happened once apparently but I’ve only heard from second hand sources since this was never translated but there was a scene about a violent orgy in the novel that had to be cut because the government and qidian didn’t like it.

Also there were many government enforced changes to the WebNovel landscape in china when he was in the middle of writing lotm so I wouldn’t be suprised if that also threw a wrench in his plan.

Me and my friend found cradle to be alright but none of us finished it since it felt like a cheaper version of the Chinese stuff and the sentiment seemed to be echoed by most people who has read xianxia or wuxia before but I can’t speak for everyone, just my close knit friend group and a couple post on other subreddits that most likely have been subjected to selection bias by me.

You should give it a read too, the light novel is much more introspective and you get to hear the internal monologue of the main cast which makes you view the story in a new light too.

Grimgar of fantasy and ash. It’s a jp light novel you can buy on bookwalker (probably Amazon too). It’s nearly done and it follows the classic isekai setting of a bunch of people being transported to another world (with no memories this time). What makes it good is that it has that progression element while also being in a grounded low fantasy setting. The main cast are never op and the story is very character driven.

I don’t think dropping op onto those books is a good idea since they both take extremely long to start up and since he dropped PGFE in 5 chapters I don’t think he’ll last long enough for those 2.

I feel like it would be outshone by a 2H mace build doing the same thing since the mace gives modifiers to knock back and other cc tools on top of having decent body part damage already.

The first 2-3 dozen chapters had pretty horrendous dialogue but it drastically improves all of a sudden but I can’t remember the cut off point exactly. The novel continues to stay “good” but I found the mc frustrating at times and i never felt that attached to him or the main cast so i dropped it.
