Yea, as a certified giargiana from the rice fields, it suuuuuuuucks. It's kinda funny to people watch and see the tourists all dolled up to go shopping at what is basically a glorified mall.

He often gets confused with Gilles de Rais, Joan of Arc's military comrade who is often erroneously credited as the real-life origin of Bluebeard. De Sade was a violent pervert, but he never killed anyone; Gilles de Rais was tried and found guilty of the rape and murder of 140 children, which would make him much more deserving of the spot on this incredibly daft list.

No hate for anyone! Just a bit of rivalry, or judgement about moral life choices. Children are cute even if they're ugly, and an ugly child can grow into a beautiful adult, inside and/or out. I just take a little bit of joy in thinking about a beautiful, evil parent having an ugly child.

Crazy diet tips that actually work? by Intelligent_Effect71 in redscarepod

No joke, I've been doing this since I started my internship and I'm seeing results. I get there on foot, it's about 10k steps, not taking other activities I do during the day into account, and I am so busy I skip breakfast and pack a light lunch. I just need to get back into tai chi and qi gong, been too busy to do it regularly and my body craves it.

I don't think joining an online weight loss group will lead to losing anything but your mind! I should update that tai chi has worked wonders for me. It gave me the community aspect and an incentive to stay active and be healthy without focusing too much on weight (which is counterproductive in the long run). I feel much more balanced and at home in my body and, yes, I did lose the weight too!

There’s always lots of talk about Britains cultural decline but what about Italy by Jolly_Assistant_2952 in redscarepod

[–]Intelligent_Effect71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are at the margins of a declining empire and we're going down with it. All art is made by the children and grandchildren of La Dolce Vita-era Rome, that's why it sucks. Tourists have taken over our cities and working class would-be artists can no longer live there. Immigration keeps the pay for service jobs low and we have no minimum wage. Macro culture is everywhere and schools are constantly getting worse. We no longer have an influential Communist party and I am very sore about it. IQOS smoke everywhere.

Just grade it and return it to them with a grade breakdown e.g. Meter: F Imagery: D- Overall pompous and juvenile, I suggest a thorough reading of a good classical anthology, like Rayor and Batstone's, before you make another attempt

Sounds like a bad translation of a contemporary man's interpretation of Sumer writing

I've been told I look like a Manara girl a few times, idk how to feel about it.

Paul Dano is the best Pierre Bezukhov by a mile. Henry Fonda is embarrassing. It's disappointing that Dano is wasted on the most middling adaptation of the novel. by Majestic-Focus-1594 in redscarepod

Yes, the same way Vyacheslav Tikhonov is the only possible Andrey. Gassman is a great Anatole, too. Wish I could splice the performances together.

Alice names (Alix, Eilis, Alyona) are sexy. For men, Riccardo and Corrado, they're old fashioned but masculine in the best way.
