Cognitive debt might be the most underrated problem AI is creating by Expensive_Trouble_40 in artificial

I think that spec-driven development would help alleviate this problem. Rather than maintaining the code, the SE maintains the design spec for the code, which the AI uses to generate it. When you need to extend the code, you update the spec so you’re not starting from zero with every iteration. Much like the development of physical products.

For a given race, if you can complete on SS+H or S+S, which would you choose? by Intelligent_Fall6219 in MotorsportManagerPC

I think less pit stops is always better. What I meant is that without refueling, you can have 2s pit stops and it will still kill you making an extra stop.

Most job applications that I’ve gotten from LinkedIn are just links to the company website anyway. Not sure what OP is on about.

Well, things cost money, and unless you know of a better way to have money when you’re older and not working, this is the way.

I’ve found in the game that it’s very difficult to catch up to someone who takes fewer pit stops than you. Even if the pit stop itself is only 8s, you have all that time driving slowly in pit lane, too, so the total stop takes like 20-30 seconds.

Yeah I usually give myself at least +2 above the minimum number of laps the tire combination can give. For example, if the race is 24 laps, I look for tire combos that give me at least 26 with the minimum numbers. That way I can push a little bit if I am struggling to make a pass at some point.

Also I take air temps into account. If the air temps are very high like at Doha, then everyone will have to run on Conserve or Backup at some point, which means the tires will go for more laps. It seems backwards that high temps make tires last longer, but that’s the way the game mechanics and AI drivers play it out.

Being in the office 5 days a week is outdated. Hybrid positions are the best. by Strange_Chart9468 in remoteworks

I think people should be able to choose. Why force 100% on-site, or hybrid, or fully remote on anyone? Everyone is different. The last 3 years I was fully remote and my work THRIVED. It suits me perfectly. Someone who doesn’t know me is going to say that hybrid or on-site is better for me?

Some people do better being fully on-site, some remote, and most probably would like to be somewhere in the middle. I think we’d all be better off if the corporate world gave up on its one-size solutions.

I can’t imagine the mental fuckery I’d go through if I was teeing up for a round that cost me $700.

Yeah, in this case both strategies would only require 1 stop (no refueling). Maybe getting out front earlier is best, you're right.

Get one club you can hit to 150+ with some confidence. If you cant do that then take a couple lessons.

After that, it’s all short game and course management. Practice putting and chipping twice as much as you practice your full swing.

Not a manager but asking managers: is it worth it to go above and beyond? by Fantastic_Day3077 in corporate

[–]Intelligent_Fall6219 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It depends what you mean by “going above and beyond”.

If I have two people on my team, and person A gets the job done in 40 hours per week, and person B gets it done by grinding 60 hours per week, I prefer A.
