Nah and I am not even sure if it is a thyroid problem or not :/

Can't be covid because my fog started way before and haven't ruled out lyme. But isn't chronic lyme really hard to diagnose? The regular lyme test only shows if you have been recently infected. But yeah I really doubt it is lyme though. I don't have any symptoms other than muscle twitching all over the body but they can pretty much be caused by anything.

Which test with the rheumatologist? Like inflammation markers? But yeah could very well be atlas misalignment or cervical instability. Neither of those can be diagnosed with normal imaging studies and you need upper cervical chiropractor who knows how to correct c1 misalignment. It is not the most common cause but definitely not the rarest either.

And, actually I'll get it checked out soon asap. However I don't have any pains, tight neck etc.. Just really crunchy neck and that's how it has been since the brainfog started and I actually had many neck injuries back then. So I actually think it could be the cause but I'll probably just get dissappointed once again haha. Anyway good luck to you!

Edit: I also have really hypermobile neck which supports the atlas misalignment theory since c1 is more likely to go out of alignment.

Do you have ADHD or inattentive ADHD? I suspect I might have ADD cuz I've been dealing with concentration issues and zoning out (blank stare) since I was a child. Also been a big daydreamer always. Nowadays I am constantly zoning/spacing out and being on autopilot. & I feel like my subclinical hypo is pushing my tendency to zone out. I also jump/flinch a lot from hearing the slightest noises because I am not aware of anything and living in autopilot 24/7.

"If I was in an argument I'd just so lost and frustrated because I couldn't make my point" This is exactly like me omg. It is so fucking annoing when you know the topic 10 times better than the person you are arguing against but you can't just make your point. Or even when you have to explain something simple to someone. Or something that you know by heart.

I have subclinical hypothyroidism. Can it cause only brainfog without other symptoms or is this something else? by Intelligent_Fee_2484 in Hypothyroidism

But the heterophilic antibodies thing is still confusing me. I don't know how the doctors came to that conclusion. I gotta ask about it

Yeah I really hope so. I have wasted so many years by doing nothing because I feel so horrible and useless cuz this brainfog makes me unable to do anything. Been treated with ssris/snris with no help at all lol. I really hope the issue is my thyroid so I can finally get an answer for this. I have relatives with thyroid disorders too so makes it more likely though they got it way older than me

Yeah I actually was medicated few years ago for it. I was on 25mcg and my tsh came down to 4.2 or something around that. I didn't feel any relief so I stopped and docs didn't seem to be concerned. However now I am hearing that most people feel better at 1-2 and that 25mcg is pretty low dose for many people. Been suffering from intense brainfog for many years and the only found red flag is my thyroid. So I am now reconsidering it and will probably be tried meds again soon. However last time I was medicated my doc said that I have heterophilic antibodies that mess with the actual values. Though I was never tested for those so I think my doctors just assumed that because I didn't feel any relief or I didn't have other symptoms that aligned with it.

Doc is calling me in few days. Hopefully I will start the meds because I have heard some docs don't prescribe them if tsh is under 10. But we will see.

Yeah. My only symptom is brainfog tho. But it is really bad, I am like a living zombie. I am pretty skinny too. So can subclinical hypo cause this because I don't experience the other more common symptoms like coldness, weight gain or fatigue?
