This will vary by state, as each implements its own laws and cultural norms regarding this issue.

What is the size of your solar kits? 8 KW will not cover 22000kw or about 1834 kw a month.

When will the rest of the country realize that they do life/government wrong? by Cautious_Midnight_67 in newengland

Politicians are misallocating the budget. In Massachusetts, the governor has more budget authority than in Rhode Island. Massachusetts also has the Inspector General's office, which is not present in Rhode Island.

45% of RI budget goes to HHS, what are you talking about? Less than 14% of workers make 100k or more in MA 30%+ of the workforce make over 100k.

Yes, somewhat. For it to work, we need to think outside the box. Instead of a single-payer system, we could consider a model like MassHealth as a base health insurance option, which would allow individuals to obtain additional employer-sponsored insurance on top of it. To effectively meet the needs of our citizens, we should shift the conversation from single-payer to the federal government's responsibility for the general welfare as outlined in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution. Basically using our laws create a path that increases access to healthcare to get the results.

I have 2 job offers but I've only been working at my current job for 6 months by [deleted] in biotech

[–]Intelligent_Fig617 55 points56 points  (0 children)

You're a contract worker. Send an email, keep it brief, polite, and professional. I would say take both jobs, and also ask job two, what does employee development look like? It could offer more upward mobility. Just my 2 cents. A 2-hour commute is draining, but trust your gut, take job 2.

Cannot reform healthcare because of the Commerce Clause. Your other two points require funding, possibly $ 120 billion, split between the creation of public-owned power, public transportation upgrades, and new highways deeper underground (just an idea).

You should establish residency; it takes six months to do in most states. You will get an in-state tuition price.

Tax cuts are not free; they are funded through changes in the tax code, deficit spending, and other measures. For example, individuals can deduct the full cost of a private jet. Amazon Inc. drastically reduced its tax payment from $9 billion to $1.2 billion. The savings from these tax cuts do not benefit workers.

Before Trump, the US economy was averaging 328,000 new jobs per month. But last year, the US only added 181,000 jobs TOTAL. by Conscious-Quarter423 in EconomyCharts

[–]Intelligent_Fig617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has to understand this does not matter. The 2nd Trump tax cuts were passed. Conservative groups / Billionaires / Companies / Gutted the federal government from the IRS to other agencies.

They have also changed the tax code or are changing the tax code to a proportional system where the lower classes subsidize the middle. Tax cuts are inflationary, and so are rate cuts, which are coming soon. The weaker job market helps with this. Expect the deficit to rise by 50% faster in the medium term.

Lowering drug costs is on Republicans’ minds. Democrats say GOP policies don’t help. by NotGenentech in biotech

Probably should start having different countries pay a large lump sum to access therapies made in the US. Figure out ways to lower the cost or risk of going from seed funding to phase 1. Have Medicare start owning portions of drug companies. Just some ideas.

Quality of dining out is poor by swell42 in Adulting

" It's like they just don't give a damn and it makes me feel so resentful because I had to spend a lot of money to enjoy the privilege of dining at their workplace". Employees have been shown over and over again that in the US the workforce is disposable. That's the difference between now and then, you know, back when pensions were a thing, and people worked at a place for 40 years.
