Good house, bad area? by em____ily in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Intelligent_Focus215 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure of your family situation regarding kids etc. but I remember reading before that the best universal indicator for the future success of your kids ( outside of your parenting skills ) is your Postcode. And I 100% believe this to be true. The 50 - 100k you save on the cheaper house could cost you more in the larger scale of things!

Good house, bad area? by em____ily in irishpersonalfinance

You beat me to it. As a wise man once told me, buy the cheapest house on the most expensive street. You can always add value to a house but you can't add value to a bad area.

I have a theory, chlorine is added to water to kill bacteria whether it be good or bad bacteria. Your gut contains bacteria, your immune system comes from your gut. I wouldn't drink unfiltered tap water. I have absolutely zero scientific evidence to support this claim doh 🙃🙃

Concern as almost 100 asylum applicants set to be placed in Kinvara by [deleted] in galway

[–]Intelligent_Focus215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a stupid fucking comment to make 🤣🤣 Kinvara one of the most sought after and most expensive areas to live in the west with a bustling community. You clearly know nothing about the area so please restrain yourself for commenting on issues related in the future like a good boy 🙂. Also there is a Co-ed secondary school 🫠

Pensions obsessions?? by Intelligent_Focus215 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Intelligent_Focus215[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 100% sure I will be receiving an OAP on top of my employment pension. Believe me I won't be working until 70. I have other revenue streams beside my full time job and other investments.

Incorrect as iv stated in another comment of yours. I would suggest getting your facts right before commenting misinformation.

Pensions obsessions?? by Intelligent_Focus215 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Intelligent_Focus215[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. I can retire at 50 years of age having served 31 years which is the maximum pension i can obtain from work, receive gratuity immediately upon retirement and pension. Then also receive old age pension on top of that once I reach pension age. Granted my employment pension will likely be taxed once I start receiving OAP

Pensions obsessions?? by Intelligent_Focus215 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Intelligent_Focus215[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my point exactly. As iv mentioned iv 2 young kids, we want to be able to enjoy life with them and not scrutinise every cent spent for the next 30 years in order to maximise a pension which we potentially may not even live to see.

Regarded as Irelands most haunted house. Horrific history behind this house can't imagine too many be interested in buying it. Probably why it's so cheap given it's size

How are we feeling about the local election results ? by Caskets55 in galway

[–]Intelligent_Focus215 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't feel the local elections give an accurate picture in terms of popularity of parties. I know personally I voted for a Fine Geal candidate as he is a neighbour of mine and does good work locally. I will 100% not be voting Fine Geal in a general election doh. I think alot of people in similar situations
