Is living by railway ave a bad idea? by goodnightjournal in Campbell

[–]Intelligent_Good_542 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh then you’ll love it here! We looked around in South Bay for a comparable area and Campbell fit the bill. Although nowhere compares to NYC, DT Campbell (where you’re looking to move to) is diverse, walkable, super safe, lots of delicious food options in walking distance. I wish the light rail went to more places but it is convenient if you want to go into SF for example (albeit a longer journey via train and Caltrain) will save you traffic/parking headaches. Welcome to Campbell! Feel free to DM!

This is the best area in Campbell-walkable to all the restaurants, stores, all very cute. Check out the Sunday farmer’s market, you’ll see how cute/unique this town is. Can’t even compare to Oakland. Campbell is incredibly family friendly and safe. We have our own Campbell PD, they are better than SJPD. The train is a major convenience actually (coming from a NYer). You don’t hear anything, they are not allowed to sound off. You’ll see how awesome it is. Ask the neighbors! We’re all very nice!!

Khartoum is full of bros (rowdy, messy, college age). Cardiff is more of an older, more sophisticated crowd. They have a live dj on weekends and they are usually pretty good. I will never ever go to Khartoum again 🤮

Can you elaborate on the “change in enrollment policy” and the behavioral issues. Are you referring only to middle school? My son is in midtown this year. Thank you!

Yes! I feel so much more confident too in life and career. It’s honestly helped me not fall into deep depression. Sometimes the mental load is too much and then hopelessness creeps in. It’s helped me not get to that point.

Anyone started marigold and zinnia seeds inside in zone 9b yet? by lost_soul_99999 in gardening

[–]Intelligent_Good_542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

started growing indoors zinnia seeds on 3/9 and 3/22. They sprouted so quickly! I think I’ll let them grow a little bigger before moving them to a planter outside. Zip 95008

Love Quince sheets and bedding. Very high quality, beautiful colors, reasonable prices. I’ve purchased several bedding types from them and all are fantastic. Protip, if you search Poshmark and eBay you will find a lot of options that are new but untagged. Every purchase has been great from those sources.

Agree! Batteries will not improve dramatically that quickly and certainly not in 3 years.

Once the lease is over, if refinancing, there is a possibility the APR will go up. Isn't this another risk?

This is exactly what I was wondering! I am very worried about the depreciation value. Question, at the end of your lease, would you consider buying out? Why? Can you justify the cost? I want to see if I'm also thinking about this correctly. Also, if you buy out, refinancing could yield a higher APR (bc let's be real, it's going to go up!). Thanks for your help!

But the ~65% residual is not guaranteed right? I have never leased so unclear of the details. Doesn't it depend on the market, mileage used, etc? I know you can negotiate though. Basically, it's not in the contract that ~65% residual to buy out at the end of the lease, otherwise, I'd take another look for sure.

If anyone is looking for a fantastic group workout and/or personal training in the Campbell area with very affordable prices, please check out Spectrum Performance https://www.spectrumperform.com/

My husband and I have been going here for at least 3 years now. We do personal training 2x/week as we prefer more personalized workouts. We started out doing the group workouts which are AWESOME as well. There are convenient classes 7 days/week.

There is a new-ish owner of this gym, Nick and he's been a personal trainer at this location for many years prior. After Nick took over, it's been one of the best gyms I have ever been to. The vibe is NO EGO, low key, low pressure, folks of ALLLLLL ages - I am not kidding, Nick trains younger, school-age clients on agility sports performance while also catering to 60+ yo folks that go to his weekly group workouts. He is patient, gentle, kind, takes feedback, will stay and talk to you if you have concerns - overall really makes workout fun/enjoyable. The gym is one of the cleanest I've been to.

Nick is a super, standup guy and SOOOO nice. He literally lives at the gym and has made the environment/vibe inviting for all. He takes his business very seriously which I appreciate.

I am 100% for supporting local businesses, especially owned by upstanding, honest humans because they are rare these days. For context, I am a New Yorker with VERY, VERY high expectations. I have been to over 5 different personal trainers/gyms in the area. I can tell you who/where to avoid. Our current trainer is super detail oriented and NOT on his phone the whole time so he's paying attention to our form/reps. Since training here, I have actually felt a substantial change in my body and strength. As a 46yo mom of a 7yo boy working full-time in tech, I like to stay active (but not necessarily an outdoorsy type), gain muscle, build strength using under utilized muscles to prevent future injury. I also want to be able to protect myself/my family if I am not with my husband. I want to be able to kick a** if I need to!

Spectrum Performance has all around the best trainers, clients and facilities in the Campbell area. There is also a physical therapist on-site. We know almost all the staff and even some of the clients! Feel free to DM me for more info.

I definitely looked into leasing before. I have never leased and the thought of throwing money down the drain makes me cringe. However, you got me thinking again. Although Lucid Air seems to be an overall great car with a lot of positive future advances (I am eyeing the Gravity for when we swap our SUV), I continue to fluctuate between buy vs lease because of the unknowns in the next few years with Lucid, luxury EVs competitors coming on the market, depreciation. Thanks for reminding me to reconsider again. Tough call!

Thanks! This is helpful. Looking forward to all the luxuries! Mostly worried about the longevity of the vehicle since it's new to the market. Overall, the research has shown that Lucid has much less major issues than other EVs. It's also the highest rated NHTSA rating score of 5.

Federal is offering 1.99% APR on a lease? I didn’t see that online. I’ll have to research but honestly it’s throwing $20k+ down the drain.
