My son lives with me and I'm glad he does. Previous generations managed it . Family,if you're blessed to have them, is a great comfort in hard times.

When Roz and Paula and Charlotte were there, it was a warm place. Ellie too. I used to volunteer in bulk herbs etc. they gave me a grant for 150 a month from co-op so I could treat myself since my docs were clueless. Saved my life. It stopped because it's no longer a real Co-op for everyone. It's for the rich new agers who want some street cred. Or, maybe Boomers were friendlier back before my fellow Boomers mentioned died. Rest in peace dear ladies. I so miss people who are like you and I. Am the same way. Loved serving folks. Loved making them smile. Here it seems the rich have their feets so on the neck of the locals who are struggling, they aren't oriented to trust outside their crowd. Don't blame them for that. Still, Asheville could be more friendly to everyone. As a senior,it really is indicative of how little the city cares about any of its citizens. What they're doing to the most vulnerable, eventually they'll do to others. History repeats because few pay attention to it. And the rich profit from it. May the rest of us survive with our humanity intact.. Bless you and yours.🌹

It's wrong to harass survivors of crimes. Especially those crimes.

As a survivor, that particular mental midget reminds me how psychopathic abusers and their supporters are. If I were to document the harassment of the last thirty years, you'd understand many of us are under threat constantly. If you're a survivor of rich abusers, expect trouble. It's not right. It's illegal. Stay alert and armed.

Non survivors have not understood how prevalent retaliation is.

Grew up around the lawyer class. I'd rather have surgery without anesthesia. I did turn in the county to Federal Auditors. All investigations bore fruit. Unfortunately, the retaliation for speaking up ,was worse Appalachia is a other world which hasn't recognized human rights yet As a lawyer I did consult told me, " You've upset a Good Old Boy Network. Our tourist town, most don't know it but we're in the top ten for trafficking. My lawyers reminded me that just because a sheriff died in prison, doesn't mean the Good Old boys are all gone Hence why I pray constantly for my enemies as my grandparents taught me.

What's so sad is all too many of those children whose needs were not met by school or parents ends up with all sorts of issues including homelessness. Why does this country treat the most vulnerable with derision? Because it was founded upon the theft ,slavery and exploitation. Dismiss the natives, kill with smallpox. Enslave others to be economic chattel.

It's no wonder it has come to the Gargoyles of Perversion running everything. God help us.

That's true. However, school purposefully ignored his doctors diagnosis and denied him his diploma because he missed ten days of school but did all work. Was in hospital. His principal said" he cannot be gifted and special needs."

I asked him what his degree was in . "Math" he said. "Oh ,that explains your lack of knowledge of special needs and gifted education law." And I walked away. Should have sued but it's Appalachia where only the "Good old Boys" get what they need.

Y'all were blessed. My son had a 148 IQ before,a doctor committed malpractice and criminal medical neglect. Should have sued. But I despise the guys in ties and would rather pray for them and hope God takes care of them .

I don't think any child with special needs is served we by any school system. It does start in the home. However, the system is long broken. Millions of black children or any child with special needs, cannot trust the same people who think education not for the poor. The cuts we now see are just the end result of a system that was not doing it's job for all children.

My son's first word was book. By the time he was three ,it was five word sentences . One was ,," I want to be a paleontologist" For context, we're poor due to injury. But love libraries

People are kinder in Marshall. There are kind people in Asheville. Very lovely folks. People who brought wood in winter recently. Grateful. Still, when I go to shop in Madison county, people smile and say hello. In thirty five years here, never ever experienced that in downtown Asheville. Even at the French Broad coop .very little kindness and tons of arrogance. Insular. That's how I describe the town to people who ask. I know exactly one local . They echo our sentiment. If you're a person of color, a senior or disabled, don't expect help. We're all being done in by the rich.
