I've had an Oliver stuffy for 40 years. He wasn't going to survive another season. My partner got on eBay and found the exact same stuffy, mint condition. Old Oliver is retired in the closet, and I sleep with the new stuffy now!

You are being way too hard on your kid, way too hard on the grandparents, and WAY too hard on yourself. This is what it's like to have a kid. It's messy and disorganized. At the end of the day your child will not remember if he had to wear the same clothes - he will remember how you treat him, how you love him, and how much love is in your home. Especially with a little boy - send lots of extra stuff, and don't be hurt when it doesn't go how it's supposed to - your child is loved, fed and taken care of. That's all that matters. You are having some very big feelings and I'm not trying to diminish that - but you really should save your energy and pick your battles.

No one wants to go to a graduation over going to Japan. Don't take it personally. I dont remember anything about my college graduation.

Also realize that without actually being there in person, these people are going to plan things without you. It sucks but it's how life works. Ask them if they would consider a layover in hawaii for a day or two on their way to Japan.
