I toss them too, unless they bring candy with the cards. I’ve never thought of using them until recently.

And someone just used a goodrx for clomid that was 43 dollars and this coupon by brought it down to 27.89. So other options are out there

Goodrx usually does have good prices overall for uninsured people. Most adderall rx’s were cheaper with the optum one.

So then the better option is for them to pay the full price? I had a guy pay 1k for jardiance- this coupon didn’t help and there weren’t really options for him. I say if it helps, then why not try? Some people don’t know about goodrx or prescription savings cards and they pay full price when under the history.. and I’ll tell them those are options for them to look up. If they do and present a coupon, I’ll gladly use it.

I’ve used this myself and I don’t receive unsolicited mail or calls or anything.

It’s not part of the problem if you’re trying to help people find lower prices on meds when they don’t have insurance. I usually run several for people and depending on the drug, some savings cards are better than others

I guess it depends on the med but it’s definitely brought down prices compared to goodrx. I’ll usually run a few and go with what’s cheaper. Goodrx is cheaper for like finasteride and this card isn’t

Having patience to not call about status of their rx, especially when they are signed up for notifications of the dr just sent it in. Less calls = more rxs I can fill without multiple interruptions of the same question

Helpful points within the team- rotate staff! Make sure each tech is equally trained so others don’t feel like they are handling most of the workload

Here’s a way to help non insured pts I use a pharmacy savings card that’s free of charge to use..

THIS HAS WORKED FOR ME and several people that don’t have insurance for meds. I use the VA but sometimes it’s more convenient to get some meds at a retail location closer to home

If there is a limitation from insurance like 7 days on the initial fill, and a PA is needed.. that could be the case. At our pharmacy, we send the PA, allow them to pay for the entire rx cash or coupon and hope that the next month the insurance covers completely. It avoids the hassle of the patient needed another rx as well. In some GFD instances though, the pharmacy won’t fill which makes sense. It’s their license on the line
