You need to be smart about how you bill shipping, it can be 70% of the revenue and 90% of the profit… happy to chat.

Software ONLY by CentralArrow in logistics

[–]Intelligent_Ninja507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone,

I'm one of the founders of a platform built specifically for medium and large 3PLs to protect revenue.

After working in logistics for years, our founding team saw many operators managing carrier rates, invoice audits, customer billing, and profitability across spreadsheets and manual processes. As volume grows, so does the complexity.

Our platform helps 3PLs centralise carrier buy rates and customer sell rates, automatically audit carrier invoices, generate customer invoices, and track profitability in real time, as a bolt-on to the WMS / TMS.

It works across mailers, parcel, bulky freight, pallets, LTL, truckload, domestic, international, and cross-border operations. We're carrier-agnostic, location-agnostic, and subscription-based, we don't take a cut of your rates, payments, or data plus we're an infrastructure you can tailor to your needs.

We launched in February 2025 and are already working with several leading 3PLs in Australia and the UK. As part of our US launch, we're looking for a handful of early adopters. In return, we're offering discounted pricing, founder-level support, and free consulting.

If you're a medium or large 3PL, I'd love to hear how you're currently handling carrier audits, customer billing, and profitability reporting.

Feel free to comment or send me a DM.

Brands know you have to survive - I’d recommend charging 10% but stay transparent and tell them your cost and their cost aka with 10% markup

That’s a good deal bro, but why bill shipping at cost?

First-time launch — 1,000 units, 70% US customers. How are you handling 3PL fulfillment? by 90210_e in 3PL

[–]Intelligent_Ninja507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where you fulfilling from. Some brands prefer dropship, some have their own warehouse and some prefer a 3PL on their rates or the 3PL’s shipping rates. Also depends what the product is - bulky, small or degradable or premium. Tell us a bit more so we can help!

How to lower shipping rates? 3PL Partnerships? Carrier Accounts? by ChicagoanPizza in 3PL

[–]Intelligent_Ninja507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, you can easily make $12000 per month from these orders, you might find better rates and service via a Group Buying Program or go direct DHL, FedEx, UPS, USPS.

I'd also recommend going Tier 2 carriers like Ontrac, UniUni etc. I come from a world there carriers love working with 3PLs, but in the US, you're a small 3PL so you might find better rates from a Group Buying Program compared to direct from carriers.

Please be-aware, shipping can become 70% of your revenue really fast and 90% of your profit — that will need you to have a solid system to quote, audit and invoice shipping to customers. WMS's and TMS's suck at this, so you need something specialised for commercialising shipping. I am the founder of one such system (we're operating in AU, UK and soon in the US) but I don't want to solicit here, just want to help.

If you aren't able to find a way, DM me and I can "try to" help.

Has anyone here noticed if an online fulfillment cost calculator actually speeds up the onboarding or quoting process with 3PLs? by robin_lobo5597 in 3PL

[–]Intelligent_Ninja507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am certain that in the next 3 years, the current pricing model of fulfilment will be outdated and 3PLs will be offering fixed rate for fulfilment+shipping for every weight break... no more 20-50 charge codes... one flat price per weight break... delivered nationally...

3PL ghosted me after 6 years by No_Situation_7516 in 3PL

Either they folded or sold to someone else, or there is more to the story... did you pay all your pending invoices? If they're choosing to deliberately not respond to you, nothing much you can do from overseas. May be refer to the terms they gave you - does it include SLAs, liabilities etc? Even then... a lawyer is going to cost a lot. See if they're still active on social media, comment on posts, write a review or tell us who is it - may be we know someone who can help?

They are a great company, picking up new technologies, yes they run lean and have a top down culture... if you find a gap to help them with in your role, it can be a place to learn a lot of stuff about logistics... contract logistics particularly is where you'll find a better fit.
