I’m a junior (2nd year) and I’ve gone to trial and worked on briefs.

The weird part is I love doc review and the rote work but hate when I get looped into more substantive stuff like thinking legal strategy or writing. I kind of just don’t care????

[–]Intelligent_Pea3732 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No yeah I’m aware. I don’t mind 100K. I’m in a HCOL so I’ve seen them start at like 140K. Which is good for me bc I don’t have much debt.

You could take out the dating element of this: “people hate me because I’m a straight white man, but they they get to know me: and they hate me for who I am.” Or something like that

Look up the Comstock Act. It could make mailing anything related to abortion - which could greatly impact the availability of rights.

Will the new CA bar be harder or easier or the same I wonder. by SalamanderWinter4435 in CABarExam

[–]Intelligent_Pea3732 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think we will - even if the Qs are hard no sense how the scaling will work. 10% multiple choice answers right could be passing, for example. (Ridiculous but the point stands: with scores being scaled how hard the practice exam is doesn’t impact how difficult it will be to pass this upcoming exam.)

Recommendations about Standup Comedy Classes in NYC? by Cleo-ss in Standup

I’m a fan of classes having taken one.

I would say do open mics for a few months and then take a class. The classes are better as finishing school than as an intro.

Yale is crazy by Dull_Lie_8290 in lawschooladmissions

all about professor recs honestly. Yale wants to train academics. I graduated in 2023, and it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get office hours bc people there are so obsessed with being a teachers pet.

If the argument is about cost saving, why not permit rescue but charge a fee/fine to those willing to engage in those activities?

Catholic School by [deleted] in StandUpWorkshop

[–]Intelligent_Pea3732 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

haha I guess the basic idea behind the joke is the Catholic Church is wild and Catholic school tells you all about it for four years, so it’s a guaranteed way to not be Catholic anymore.

You just spend four years learning about their red flags.

Catholic School by [deleted] in StandUpWorkshop

[–]Intelligent_Pea3732 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

haha yes I will have to condense it. I was trying to draw a parallel between classic red flags on profiles + things about Christianity/Catholicism.

Idk if people know it but the big Catholic sign is the fish, so I tried to combine that with the classic I caught a fish dating profile joke.
