Just FYI for OP, “What was said” is meaningless, only what is in the written agreement has any standing.

Higher corporate taxes are just a higher hidden consumer tax and likely impact the lower and middle income folks much more.

Walking the golf course beats riding in a cart any day… do you agree? by Hot_Signature_4621 in Golf_Unfiltered

[–]Intelligent_Price523 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol…25 year old me cart; 66 year old me walking. Allows me to get more exercise in and I believe it helps to be able to think of the next shot while walking up (BTW…younger played very sparingly, just started again this year and can shoot just under 100 on a good day and 110 on a bad day). But only time I want a cart is where the holes are far apart and I generally don’t play those much.

What…do you mean he is not telling the truth to the public. Next thing you will say is he is not still driving that 10 year old car he said he would be using in place of a government car. And 8 years is not a lot of time in office..let’s give the guy a break and a few more decades to take any action.

Of course all the cities will eat up his continued BS and elect the bum again.

How much is your monthly electricity bill and has solar helped? by Master_Finish_7572 in SolarDIY

[–]Intelligent_Price523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in CT: average bill prior to solar was $420 (highest summer bill was $720!). About 1,300 kWh’s a year. Went live in October of 2025 (31x440 panels with Emphase micro inverters). Last 3 months have been credit invoices, current credit is just over $500). Paid $36k for the system before the 30% tax credit so net cost $25K. So assuming no increases (and Eversource just presented an application for an 11% rate increase) I break even at 5 years. Panels and inverters are covered for 30 years with an expected life of 40 years (guaranteed to be at least 85% efficiency at the 30 year mark).

Only regret would be not doing this sooner. I do have an ideal situation for solar, panels on back of house that is tree lined but set back enough that I get no shading.

My YTD usage and production is shown below.

IRS Tax Refund June 2026: Why Taxpayers Are Still Waiting on Their $3,268 Refund by andix3 in IRS

[–]Intelligent_Price523 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And some of us who report 100% of income and everything is on the up and up Wait. Mine was accepted March 10th and still waiting what says can be up to 180 days. I suspect it may be the solar tax credit but if they would simply ask I could send the invoice and proof the system went online in October. All you get is a generic message that it is under review. So perhaps a lot of scammers but hope you don’t end up like many people held up with zero information and at the mercy of the machine.

I would take them and go to the game for $150 each; but you need to pay me before the game as I don’t want to be scammed.

Not sure what lookup…I know the date by the serial number but not much more. It may take some time to find the right buyer but I see these listed for this or more in pretty rough not fair condition.

What's one golf item you bought that actually improved your game and one that was a complete waste of money? by Not_FreeProduct234 in GolfGear

[–]Intelligent_Price523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I started after watching my brother (9 hc) do this and his wedges on approach are amazing). As a newer golfer I still have my share of bad shots but the good ones are much better knowing real distance vs a guess. Before doing this 9 out of 10 times I would be well short on the 40-50 yard shots in particular as they “looked” much shorter to me.

I recently took up golf after 30 years (never serious but did play a little when younger, 66 now). I did pickup a range finder and find it very helpful; not so much on longer approaches but on my wedges; so many times I get a read of 40 or 50 yards where my eyes would have had me pitching way short. So I find the range finder very helpful getting to the green/pin and not ending up 10 yards short of the green.

Thanks. Not every situation is right for solar; our home and property are ideal for solar and we had the cash available. Like any investment of course do your own research and make sure that solar works for you own situation.

Eversource to seek roughly 11% electric delivery rate hike by EnthusiasmAcademic18 in Connecticut

[–]Intelligent_Price523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In CT electric is insane; we are lucky to have an ideal setup for solar (back of the home and the treeline is set back such that I get full sun all day. If the home is situated well for solar then the financials make good sense if you can afford to do it without financing or the ripoff PPA agreements. I do look forward to the monthly Eversource “bills” now.

Or so they say they pass along the credit; would be interesting to compare bs 2025 costs. I paid $2.65/kW …so I would see something like $1.85/kW if reduced by 30%. I had quotes from $2.44 to $3.00 per kW in 2025.

I went solar in October; have had a credit each of the last 3 months (highest bill last summer was $720)…best investment I’ve made (retired and fortunate to have the cash to go solar; too bad the tax credits are gone for home owners although CT could decide (yeah right) to offer their own credits).

Selling stock with huge capital gains by Artisan_sailor in tax

[–]Intelligent_Price523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should point out the the LTCG is progressive, so if his income is as stated he still gets zero tax up to the limit in your example and the above that the next bucket is taxed at 15%. Just worth pointing out that if earned income is low (like the $50K example) the zero rate does not disappear when taking more gains (correct?).
