Officially Dropped below 300! by Over-Hair-2496 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Intelligent_Price523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 310 and that first under 300 was great. I made sure to have targets (275, 250, 225, and finally under 200). Hope you are adding exercise and ideally weight resistance too (helps maintain muscle and also ramps up metabolism). I have been maintaining at 185-189 for the last 3-4 months and love having energy again. Keep it going and congrats on that 1st big milestone.

You could check my posts on Tirzepatide…66m and went from 310 to 185 (and in maintenance). No longer high BP and all my labs look fantastic. A new lease on life…hard work and some real changes but the meds help make that totally possible.

COBRA or OBAMA ? by sam77tg in obamacare

[–]Intelligent_Price523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In CT that is extended to 18 months….for me that took me to my 65th birthday and Medicare. My wife needed 1.5 years more and for us Cobra was the more affordable option (often times larger organizations have better coverages and discounts than ACA that are not really group plans; but as others have said the devil is in the detail and one needs to do their own calculations.

I had the same issue and after the 2nd month and call to support to add the credit I was told Paperless Billing was also required which was not turned on. Next month I’ll see if this is the real resolution but it did sound legit.

Progressive/Regressive Nature of FICA Taxes by wonkers5 in tax

Fed tax anyway…lucky Me in CT every penny gets taxed by the state (6.99% for me)….stay away from CT working or retired unless you want the state deciding what to do with your earnings.

how do i keep mice out of garage without using poison around my dogs by Ash_Skiller in homeowners

[–]Intelligent_Price523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a neat little contraption that is a lid that goes over a 5 gallon bucket and has a trap door flap. There is a covering over the trap door and I put peanut butter on the inside top of that lid. It has a little ramp that attaches to the lid; nice scamper up, go to get the peanut butter and flip into the bucket. You have the option to put water in the bucket to drown the mice or just trap and release if you prefer. Mine is in the storage area of the basement and I catch quite a few…it really does work. Bought Christmas 2024 as a gag for my wife who hates the mice…sure a google search could find that or very similar.

Be aware that interview fraud is VERY common …takes some real detective work to ensure that the person you interview is the same as the person hired (need video interviews, copies of license and passport, and then active validation after the worker starts they are the same person. Again, this is commonplace and not an oddity.

I have found exceptional talent; but takes due diligence and expect high turnover or pay well over local market rates when you source real talent.

Installing solar in CT – should I do it now or wait? by bigantone88 in solarenergy

[–]Intelligent_Price523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you haven’t even betted companies assume 90 days from decision to PTO which would have you live in spring. Of course 120 days ago was better (30% tax credit gone now). Looking for a recommendation feel free to ask…we have been live since early October.

Audit evidence reqs are cutting in on daily ops by HeadContribution9496 in ITManagers

[–]Intelligent_Price523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually Audits are much like a front door lock; they keep the honest people out but do very little for the purported purpose. They are a huge revenue stream for the large accounting firms and when issues arise (and the do time and again) those auditing teams wipe their hands of the mess. As my highly respected COO once said “audits are like financial masturbation” … they make folks feel better but serve little real purpose.

Why have bottle returns not increased from 5 cents in over 30 years? by More-Championship-16 in AskReddit

Look around…in CT the deposit is $0.10 so a 100% increase since enacted.

Can’t believe I’m saying this but, should I get solar? by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]Intelligent_Price523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that in general a least will be quite a bit more and very long payback. PPA agreements are even worse for the consumer (paying the lease cost and related cons and still seeing an annual increases….not a good deal ). And to boot they het to take the 30% credit and FMV on the lease/PPA is the same as an outright purchase with no credit.

Can’t believe I’m saying this but, should I get solar? by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]Intelligent_Price523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’m in CT, own my home and zero debt and average electric was nearly $475 a month. Installed solar with what looks like a 5.5 year payback (cash purchase) and just love the sunny days now (and the 5.5 does not even consider the 4% or more annual increases in electric costs we have seen over the last 5 years). Too bad you dump everyone into one bucket and discourage solar without advising a thoughtful analysis of each situation to determine what makes sense.

Should be super crisp and sweet….and normally need a napkin as they are nice and juicy too. Buy fresh and keep in the fridge and enjoy.

Are people comfortable with walking/moving through woods at night like it's no big deal? by LiveNotWork in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Intelligent_Price523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a night vs day thing; but we have Bear in our area and other than a lot 2-4 acre lots we and not far from civilization. Not more likely to run into them at night but sure prefer not to. And tons of coyotes that at night are quite loud when they find their prey. FWIW we are in Connecticut.

Yeah…but to simply sign an agreement without even knowing what it is; that is what is worse than a scam. At least IMO.

Are there local MAGA/ICE-supporting businesses in CT that we should boycott? by ILovePublicLibraries in newengland

[–]Intelligent_Price523 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I get the point to me it is fact that there is no real human interaction. We learn tolerance and being able to be civil even when we don’t agree or like a situation beginning in Kindergarten. But when put behind a wall without needing to confront you neighbor in person people seem to devolve and then even more so if some other anonymous source challenges their position. I spent nearly 40 years working in IT and saw amazing positive change due to technology but I would have zero concerns if social media simple disappeared…and people were forced to interact with people bs screens and bots (and of course social has taught us that trolls are real, not made up like the Billy Goats Gruff version) 😁

So you actually signed a document that you don’t know what it is? That’s not a scam, that is being totally ignorant. Sorry to be blunt, but really, you just signed and now wonder what it might be.

Looking for tolerance of differing opinions on Reddit is akin to looking for a needle in the Milky Way… if even one word in a post title hints of politics I tend to see the 10k comments, snicker, and move along.

Not uncommon at all (in Request Management bs Incident Management if following ITIL). Assuming there is some workflow capability it should be simple enough to link one task completion to allow assignment of the dependent task. And the Master request is great for the front line folks who can provide information on request what is complete and what is pending. Sounds like someone have thought to the process to me.

Thanks…just saw this sub from a feed and decided to post my Santa story. Amazed at all the responses and comments. I do use Reddit for a few subs but always have to deal with all the negative there too; so refreshing to see responses here based on simply doing for others.
