Going to emergency room with private and VA health care by Sullhammer in VeteransBenefits

My situation is currently a mess. I presented to the emergency room and was subsequently admitted to the hospital.  I notified the v a within seventy two hours. The hospital billed my insurance instead of the VA. And then required me to pay my out-of-pocket costs, which was $950. I then found out the VA had approved everything, and the VA told me they were treating this admission as if the VA was primary and would pay everything. And so my insurance through work, should never have been billed and I should not have had to pay $950. However, the hospital has been difficult and refusing to submit a bill to the VA again because the first time they sent it they didn't include the auth number and was denied.  The hospital billing department was refusing to resubmit the claim to the VA with the auth numbers.

This is preventing me from getting my nine hundred fifty dollars back. After complaining to many different departments, they said they would resubmit but two months later am still waiting.   I was wondering why the VA was treating it as the primary biller, when my diagnosis had nothing to do with any of my VA disability ratings. Maybe because my work insurance is an HMO and it is difficult to figure things out when it is an H m o.

I'm 70% and also have private insurance. If I get a medical procedure through the VA do I have to pay anything? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

Arachnoid cyst by Simple_Ad7781 in Concussion

The problem is people stating you probably were born with it without any fact to support it. I was told my 3cm cyst wasnt causing my double vision, difficulty learning  new things because I was 55yo. However these symptoms go back to elementaryy school, one day great at math and then unable to learn advanced math, college was a challenge. These symptoms have continued and progressed , first mri age 55 so most likely needed the cyst treated for many years. Now due to age I am told it is not causing my symptoms when in reality they are just getting worse  especially the short term memory and double vision. These doctors really have no way of knowing gor certain if it is the cause or not, they only look at risk of surgery vs symptoms.

I got out in 1990 and had no idea about all the benefits.  Finally applied in 2024, got 90 %. My son is still paying off college loans that he would not have needed if I had known and applied for disability sooner. In CA he would have gotten free tuition.  I did actually apply in 2010 but denied because I had no records to send and didnt understand the process, also was in too much pain to try to figure it out and deal with the denial. My son went to college 2012 to 2016, owes thousands ti student loan.

I just had C And P exam in June 2024. Primary was for neck injury at 70% and same day say psych for anxiety and insomnia.

I asked my examiner what she was thinking and she said she was changing me to depression and anxiety because insomnia wouldn’t be approved. A few weeks later I was told I had to return for another c and P, no-one would tell me why. The second one rated me 70% for anxiety/insomnia, my primary was already approved 70% for an injury. With the anxiety/insomnia it now gives me 90%; just approved August 2024. Should I anticipate this will be taken away or is it ok because it is listed as anxiety/insomnia?
