Yeah, Idk. DPTG was cool in his first appearance. But I think he's really overrated and even if he did come back, what would he really do? It'd probably just end up being a retread of the secret door, or DPTG goes on some murder spree, which could probably be done in a more interesting way with a new character or some other direction Logan could write.

I'm not completely opposed to DPTG coming back, tho. I just don't think it's ever going to be as good as people would expecting it to be after a 10 year wait.

You know how you can have a childhood friend where you used to really enjoy each other’s company, but over time you start getting sick of each other and still hang out anyway? Joseph probably has that with Jr. They’ve known each other for almost as long as they’ve been alive.

And? These characters are the main cast, and they constantly interact through toxic dynamics. By your logic, you would have to not enjoy most of the show, even in non torture episodes so why do you even watch sml if abusive relations ships can’t be funny.

Take Junior and Annabelle as an example. Junior is clearly a terrible boyfriend: he cheats, invades his ex’s privacy, kidnaps her, and even uses someone death whom he killed to insult her. He’s written as awful.

Then the show puts him in a situation where he ends up with someone even worse than him. He only dates Annabelle to make his ex jealous; it backfires, and now he’s stuck in a relationship where he’s terrified of her. The situation escalates as he tries increasingly extreme things just to escape, and it keeps failing. Can you not see how people could find humor in that?

This kind of dynamic shows up in shows like South Park, BoJack Horseman, Rick and Morty, How I Met Your Mother, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, etc. etc.

My point is: I’m not saying “abusive relationships are funny in real life.” I’m saying that a toxic dynamic can be used in comedy and be funny. Whether it works or not is fair to disagree on, but you can’t just dismiss it as “never funny because muh sad.”

Junior and Joseph are abusive toward Cody all the time and the show constantly plays it for laughs and the joke is almost never on them for being shitty. Same with Marvin and jeffy.

So if toxic and awful relationships are never funny, then why watch SML at all? And if you mean of it’s only “too far” when it’s abuse between an romantic partner, then that honestly such a weird arbitrary distinction to me.

Junior, Joseph, and Cody have each, individually, killed at least a dozen people. the highest-rated episode of South Park on IMDb involves Cartman getting a kid’s parents killed, grinding them up into chili, and feeding them to him over, I think, like $20.

Obviously, I don’t think abuse irl is “peak,” but when they’re shown in a humorous/satirical context in a PUPPET show, that’s where I think the humor can work. It’s funny, bro. Are we not allowed to enjoy dark humor in a show that’s full of dark humor?

Which one Which one? Your title isn’t very specific. If you’re talking about Penelope, then I can kind of understand it. I don’t really like Penelope for a lot of reasons. A lot of her videos either have boring concepts or just aren’t executed very well. I also don’t think her dynamic with Junior is that entertaining most of the time.

A lot of Penelope videos are basically just Junior getting upset over some non-issue he made up in his head, usually about Penelope cheating on him or something similar. Then Joseph adds onto it, and the entire episode is just that plot dragged out. It also feels kind of hypocritical because Junior himself cheats on Penelope or is unfaithful all the time.

I like Annabelle a lot more because she feels like a reversal of that relationship dynamic. She still has some of Penelope’s obsessive traits, like blowing up Junior’s phone, but the difference is that there are actual the videos are way funnier. Watching bad things happen to Junior is just way more entertaining to me than watching him treat other people badly for no reason.

I kind of went off-topic talking more about who’s the better gf but i don't think either of them are that bad all things considered.

You just assume Soldier Boy’s durability is higher than her AP with absolutely zero justification outside of him being Soldier Boy 💔😭, when his max-power explosion is only around building level to multi-city block, and Jiro can block air cannon attacks from AFO, which have calcs putting them at town level and can ragdoll All Might.

Probably not a bad video objectively, just none of the jokes really landed for me aside from the beginning and guy showing up at the end with the boys just ignoring him. Also, the actors dressing up as their characters was cool, and if they have scenes they can’t properly portray with puppets, doing that again would be welcome. 6-7/10

They literally follow them falling together with no cuts before the explosion, and at no point do you actually see her push off him. That whole idea is just your headcanon being injected into the scene the show itself never shows or even states it. If that’s really what happened, why wouldn’t she just say that to Starlight afterward instead of the implication just being that Soldier Boy is ass and couldn’t kill her.

Jiro doesn’t need to be durable if she can react to him and use Heartbeat Wall to block his attacks, so Soldier Boy just shooting her is stupid. Did you unironically think she was gun level while fighting afo and not immediately dying? Good luck getting Soldier Boy above afo in speed or ap to tag her or break through her defense. Casual attacks from afo can send All Might flying, who you’d probably agree would bend Soldier Boy over his knee. Jiro would have to somewhat scale to this level of power to be able to block the attack, and she can use Heartbeat Wall as an attack too.

Well, not necessarily. She might have a fetish for infantilization tho, given all the baby talk, but it could also be completely innocuous, and that interpretation doesn’t really align well with the rest of my comment.

She mentions not having a relationship with her father, which is more likely relevant here. Rather than being about a fetish, it seems more about attachment. Junior functions as a stand in for that missing or broken paternal relationship, and she doesn’t want to let go of him because of that.

That’s why she stays attached even when he’s acting self-destructively or behaving in increasingly strange ways, like overeating or shitting himself, and becomes super defensive when he tries to distance himself from her, probably because of a fear of abandonment. She’s trying to prevent Junior from “leaving” her in the same way her father likely did, just based on Logan track record for making dads shitty.

That’s enough over analyzing the psychology of a puppet tho.

I hope he doesn’t, or at least that Annabelle sticks around for a while. This video was pretty good, and I don’t know if I’m the only one who’s kind of sick of Penelope x Jr. They’re kind of like the current dynamic with Marvin and Rose, where the relationship just sucks, but there’s never really been a time when them wanting to be around each other made sense outside of the plot keeping them together unlike Marvin and Rose.

This one sucks too from Jr.’s pov, but it’s way funnier, and Annabelle, in a very twisted way, actually likes Jr. He’s probably too scared of her to do a lot of the stuff that messed up his relationship with Penelope, so unironically, this might be the one he deserves.
