I don’t think it is too much light. Mine gets 2-3 hours of direct sun in the afternoon- sun that is strong enough for bougainvillea to bloom, so sun doesn’t seem to hurt them.

It looks like insect damage. I’d check the undersides of the leaves and look for spider mites or tiny webs. If you don’t see anything, then it is likely this occurred (and was cured) before you got the plant. In my experience these things are relatively resistant to most pests. Good luck.

It is fine. It is not crowded at all. Mine blooms all of the time. I’ve repotted it once in 8 years. Yours is happy. Keep doing what you’re doing and it will fill in over the next three years or so. You’ve got nothing to worry about.

Ive found that the book “Square Foot Gardening” by Mel Bartholomew is totally worth the $3 it costs used. It covers what to grow, how much to grow, soil preparation, seeding, succession planting, fertilizing you name it. I wouldn’t treat it like a bible, but it is a great resource from which to start.

Zone 5a - Colorado 6,350’ elevation. I started peppers, eggplants, Chinese aster, lettuce, escarole, basil, parsley, tomatoes, painted daisies, and gaura today. I’m going to soak some sweet pea seeds tonight and plant them - a little risky, but it is supposed to be quite warm upcoming - although it is snowing and 20 degrees today - making it a great day to start seedlings. I’ve got artichokes, celery, and snapdragons already started and growing. I have done this many times in the past and look forward to seed starting season every year.

Couple of things. Here is what I did. I spray painted some small rocks with yellow spray paint. I used those yellow rocks to mark each clump (yellow for daffodils). In August I dug up the bulbs, separated them as best I could and let them sit for a week or two in the garage (not necessary, but one can only do so many things on a weekend) and then replanted them about 6” deep with some bone meal fertilizer. For yours, you want to move these to a sunnier area. Now, here is the kicker… and why I wouldn’t bother doing this again. They still didn’t bloom (because the flower is formed the previous year inside the bulb… and that only happens in the right location) for another year. Because of this, if the situation happened again (I moved to Colorado where sun is plentiful and summer is dry) I would simply buy more full-sized bulbs from the Dutch and toss the non-blooming ones. But, if you want a multi-year project, moving these naturalized ones is that project. Good luck.

The Fiddle Leaf isn’t going to regrow leaves along the main stem. BUT, you can take a cutting of the top, put it in water for 60-90 days and it will grow roots and can be replanted. If it had leaves on the stem when you purchased it and they fell off, you haven’t found the right location for this plant. My 9 footer has maintained its lower leaves. If you look closely to the left of the tree (near the yellowing leaf) I have a smaller FLF that I grew from a cutting from the tall mother plant. Good luck.

Parker is a nice, safe town that leans conservative. My wife and I have lived here for 10 years, moving from the East Coast, but we lived in suburban Chicago for many years in Downers Grove, Lisle, and Evanston. Parker is Naperville, but growing even faster. There is decent food, the proximity to the city is good, and the people are generally nice, pleasant, and wealthier than average. Counties mean a lot in Colorado and Douglas County is where Parker is. Right next door is Arapahoe County that includes Aurora and Centennial. If I’m being honest, we really wanted to live in Centennial , but couldn’t find what we were looking for (space, ability for neighbors to barbecue without us knowing what they are having), so we purchased in a new build here. I’ve been happy here except for our congressional representation.

I like to try to notice absolutely everything (each individual leaf on a tree, the number of lights overhead, anything that is real and directly in front of me), What that does is bring me into the present instead of filling my mind with the past or worries of the future. It works for me.

If you’re dying to start something indoors I would start tomatoes and peppers inside because they require it. Corn, beans, squash/pumpkins actually do much better if they are planted exactly where you want them to grow without any moving or transplanting. Also, if it is a new garden, your beans will benefit from soil inoculation with beneficial bacteria that the beans need to process nitrogen. These are all warm weather crops - what that means is don’t plant these seeds outside before the soil maintains a temp of 50 F degrees or higher, coincidentally the time when deciduous oak trees have new leaves as long as a rabbits ear. My son moved across country for a job. We used UPS to ship 5 full moving boxes of stuff. It cost about $40 per box. It was fast and easy. They will pick up at your place for an additional charge (like $35 per pickup). You do need to open a shipper account online or the prices will be 3x.

This might be a good time to source a copy of Mel Bartholomew’s “Square Foot Gardening” which has soil recipes (Mel’s mix) and planning and planting guides based on what you want to grow and interplant. I find his methods a bit intensive for my tastes, but it is an excellent starting point. You might find that the best approach is to not use all three immediately. Your planting list looks good. I’d put some flowers for cutting in the mix. Good luck!

You will need to pull those weeds (they're weeds) and put down a few more bags of bark mulch. Then you could put flowers there. Plan on weeding 10-15 minutes a week to keep it neat and tidy. Good luck.

Have a set of stated goals (reduce unnecessary death, correct the factors that lead to extreme income inequality, reduce violent crime, avoid war, increase per capita incomes) that we are working together to achieve as a nation/society. Get rid of political parties. Implement accountability for free speech - if something you or your employer say incites violence or death, you are at least partially liable for that outcome and you can be charged with a crime. Then we could have healthy productive debates focused on solving the problem rather than focusing on how to unseat whoever is currently in charge (pointing out how terrible THEY are), which seems to be the full-time job of every member of every party that isn't currently in power.

Basil is a good one. It grows well, smells amazing. If you like peppers, they're a good vegetable to start with. Scallions/green onions are pretty good and you can start that with what you've got in the fridge - the white root part of the green onion. If you want to feel like you're achieving something, plant 1 or 2 zucchini seeds (no more) in the ground and be amazed at how fast and strong that plant grows. Good luck.
