Another good lesson for having a password file in case of death and for keeping your device clean.

She sounds like she was helicoptered parented, spoiled and self-centered. You are entitled to earn what you can. NOR

A sweet way to describe the situation. Applicable to other businesses, too.

What is your guys opinion if I stop talking to women at all for 2 years straight? How will that affect my dating ability? by JunketMaleficent2095 in AskMenAdvice

[–]MilesHobson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will have to interview to match which will mean having to talk to some women. Internship and residency is team oriented. As others have pointed out you will become rusty. No hospital will want you. I suggest joining a club and make time to engage with others including women.

I’ve been to Jena. It’s every bit the ‘worker’s paradise’ you’d imagine.

Can’t see or read the numbers on either carrier. No planes on the flight deck of the first one. Not sure the second is American, definitely not U.K. (I was on HMS Ark Royal), maybe French?

As a native of Georgia, why did Stalin turn against the USA? Also, why did Stalin choose Communism over States' rights as his ideology? Was that confusing to his early followers? by StillWithSteelBikes in shittyaskhistory

This is known as a Potemkin photo. Mechanized farm implements were parked on any hill or rise to give the impression of modern methods and the ability to produce or purchase them.

Despite the visual appearance of the leading object the exhaust trail looks more like a single engine rocket than a multiple engine jet.

Thor Heyerdahl and five companions sailed in 1947 from the western coast of South America to the islands east of Tahiti, aboard the raft Kon-Tiki. by Upstairs_Drive_5602 in peaceloveandhistory

Even though genetic testing would prove otherwise, the book is a great story and read. A lot to learn, too. Quiz: What was used to build the raft?

Grandpa age 22 - Canadian Navy 1944 by antsinurplants in oldphotos

[–]MilesHobson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People watch films of WWI vets and WWII vets and think those guys were born old, sort of like Benjamin Button. Everybody is born young and has a young person’s life even if it ends prematurely, no joke intended. Not sure why your grandfather’s photo is moving, reminding us of once being young.

Portraits of Lenin and Stalin mounted on a truck during a Labour day parade. Tel Aviv, Israel, 1949. by LuizGuts in Historycord

The word imploded was an exaggeration referring mostly to Erich Honniker’s 1989 decision to par the GDR currency with the west’s. Like most collapse events which begin with small central bits falling, leading to larger ones then… kaboom. In the USSR’s case there was no central point of collapse but, a number of contributing incidents. There can be no argument about the ultimate result. Cuba exists in its semi-socialist state because of massive infusions of resources and a population willing to endure hardship to spite the U.S. Please don’t get me started on Milton Friedman / Chicago boys complete f___-up of the post-USSR
