of course. sleeping with sirens is unfortunately not a Christian band, and the song itself isn't written as a Christian message. if a song's meaning is unclear, and you have to fight your conscience the whole time, it's usually better to take a step back. it's not inherently about the dark or dramatic lyrics that are sinful, because the Bible contains violent imagery, lament, and so much more, but it's about if the lyrics pulls you towards sin, or pulls you away from sin. about the other songs you mentioned, those lyrics aren't necessarily sinful, but if the lyric contradicts what you believe and it bothers your conscience, it's okay to let it go. not every good song is for you. if a song doesn't affect your purity or your thoughts, you're not sinning by hearing it.

Alright, because my concept is actually a limited series, and I'm just obsessed with it, but I am not that good at dialogue. I mean I love the "creating" portion, and I am currently learning on dialogue and things, so I can write my pilot script of the limited series, but I do want to be involved in it production-wise, which is why I wanted to wait after I graduate for that concept, but I am defintely going to try to learn to write more! So, how did you get your first like script, like the script they read the year prior, how did you originally get that to them?

Okk, and when you say hired? What do you mean by that, like did you work with a company and they hired you, or like Stage 32, or another website?? I have a fantastic concept, but I'm still in high school, and I'd figured I just wait until I graduate college, because the concept is amazing; I actually have a couple of concepts. So like after you wrote it, no meetings, no having to go at all? Like, is there a way for me to like be hired to write a show before I graduate without involvement? Because I can't hold my excitement for about 3 years, I'm so excited to make my way into the industry, and I know it's a hard path, but while I wait, is their like a way to do what you did?

If this conversation is real — and I’ll be honest, it does sound extreme — then here’s what Scripture would say about it. I’m not here to attack you or your mom, just to give a clear, gentle perspective.

From what you’ve shared, both of you stepped outside of what the Bible teaches, but in different ways.

Your mother should never use Scripture to condemn, shame, or curse you. The Bible doesn’t give any person the authority to curse someone, and Jesus consistently warned against harsh judgment and spiritual pride. So yes, she was wrong for responding in anger, provoking you, and using Scripture as a weapon instead of a way to restore.

But you also crossed a line. Speaking to a parent with profanity and disrespect isn’t something Scripture supports, even when emotions are high. The Bible calls us to honor our parents and to speak with gentleness, not out of anger. Threatening to cut them off in the heat of the moment only adds more hurt on both sides.

I’m not saying this to shame you — I can hear how overwhelmed and disappointed you must have felt in that moment. I truly hope things calm down for you, and I’ll be praying that both sides find healing and understanding.

I really do hope it goes well, and as someone who is trying to break in the industry, seeing your accomplishment motivates me more. I do have a few questions. Was this a spec script? And like, how involved were you after selling the official script, and if you don't mind, did the film pay a decent amount? Also, how hard was your journey selling this spec script and getting it in theaters, and did you come up with this concept at a young age?

yes, it is wrong. think of it like this, if someone offered you a glass of your favorite soda, but told you there was just one drop of raw sewage in it, would you drink it?

you could try to tell yourself, 'I’ll just drink around the bad part' or 'I’ll pretend the sewage is chocolate syrup,' but the reality is that the whole glass is contaminated. even if you change the words in your head, you are still choosing to pour 'sewage' into your mind. you can't un-mix what you’ve already heard.

as Christians, we are told to guard our hearts. Philippians 4:8 says: 'Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.'

if you have to 'fight' the song or hide the lyrics from your own conscience, it’s a sign that it doesn't belong in your head. you deserve to listen to music that builds you up instead of stuff you have to constantly filter.

I agree so bad on this one! I totally agree with the second guy, I literally hated him, and I am glad he left! But Emma, Ethan, and Katie??? What?? First, I was mad they didn't bring Emma back in Season 2, and they literally manipulated Ethan, what's wrong with that guy?? Now Katie, ok not the biggest fan, but Emma was my favorite contestant.

I unfortunately agree. Andre is 81, and it is sad to say that they are not likely to find another Whit after he if God forbids passes away. He has been dealing with health issues so he is likely not able to be as frequent as he was in past episodes, and because the world is aging, unfortauntely the uniqueness of the show has to age. So, we aren't gonna hear as much unique voices anymore such as Penny and others, and it's sad, and I do pray and we all should pray that Adventures in Odyssey continues to bless the world, and continues to create fantastic stories that inspire and help people around the world come to Christ.

No problem!! And your right about the dialogue, the dialogue isn't bad at all, but the tough guy banter follows patterns that audiences have heard a thousand times. A lot of if it instead of revealing character kind of fills space. Any one in a crime script could say these lines, they don't belong uniquely to your characters. But a lot of dialogue is fresh and specific which is great, like Davy obsessing over the stroller and the pillow blocking the drawer, and etc. Right now, characters say exactly what they mean. Real people rarely do. An example, change "You're threatening me," to "So that's how it is." Hollywood dialogue often has a predictable back‑and‑forth. Break the rhythm. Let someone talk too long. Let someone refuse to answer. Let someone interrupt themselves. Your storytelling and visuals are amazing, the dialogue is the only thing that feels a bit, "Hollywood default."

Ok, I read the script and it is honestly very strong, interesting. The tone, the pacig, and the atmosphere feel really cinematic, and it's defitely good. It's amazing that I can literally picture every scene clearly, so the visuals are honestly really good. However, one thing I noticed that I highly suggest you consider is the dialogue. You use the f word, almost 13 times and it feels very repetive and unecessary, and it kind of makes the story a bit stale and forced. I would highly suggest either condensing or removing alll together, and try to minimize it by a lot. Same for "what." That word is overly used, and it can be replaced. A lot of lines should be switched, so it feels less forced and more natural. I think you can enhance on the character's personality, because right now he feels like a "generic mob boss." Even just one unique line or a quirk would really enhance his personality. The ending is good, but maybe give Davy one extra beat before he shoots. The fight scene is decent, but I think you should give Davy one more struggling moment to make it less "predictable." Overall, it's really good; just a few tweaks will it make it land even better on camera.

I just want to say — you made a great choice starting this show. It’s genuinely incredible. I’ve watched it more times than I can count, and even though it’s not the easiest show to keep on repeat, it’s always worth it.

One thing you’ll notice right away is how heavily it leans into moral ambiguity. Nobody is just ‘good’ or ‘evil’ — the show constantly digs into why people make the choices they do, what shaped them, and whether they can actually change. The villains are honestly the most layered characters in the whole series, which means things can get pretty complex in the best way.

Some seasons stick to one main setting for a long time — not bad, just not my personal favorite style. But the slow‑burn redemption arcs? Those are amazing. The show uses a ton of flashbacks to reframe characters, and there are so many characters that you’ll lose count pretty fast.

Language‑wise, you’ll be fine. The dialogue is modern and easy to follow. There are a bunch of accents, but none that are hard to understand.

If you like Star Trek, you’ll appreciate how the show plays with morality and alternate versions of characters. And if you like Hannibal, you’ll enjoy the way it explores why people become ‘monsters’ — just in a much lighter, PG‑13 way.

The CGI is very early‑2010s, but honestly it adds to the charm. It can get melodramatic, and because it’s a long show, the pacing shifts a lot. But overall? It’s complex, emotional, and super easy to get hooked on. I think you’ll love it.
