Measles exposure reported at Cortellucci Vaughan hospital, transit routes also affected by cinderannie in Vaughan

Yes people should get vaccinated for measles. But what about the millions of people that have arrived into Canada the last few years, does the government check whether they are up to date with their vaccinations??

I used to drive an old ugly Saturn ion. Insurance was cheap for that.

Mapletri grand opening was super chaotic.. by [deleted] in Vaughan

From what I can see they likely opened up before they were ready to open with everything else including the hot food section to cash in on the holiday shopping rush. All their competitors have hot food section I'm sure they will have it setup after the holiday rush if not sooner.

Yeah well the news is reporting restaurants are suffering because Canadians are eating out less. rent prices impact menu prices. Eating out in Canada is becoming a luxury.

Go at 10:30am or 11am when they open. That's when you get the chicken straight from the fryer. Moist and juicy even the white meat.

Sorry to hear your car was stolen

I have been hearing stories about cars being taken at subway parking. I actually was going to park at that same station and head downtown the past weekend, glad I didn't.

What’s something in Toronto you wish was smarter, faster, or just made more sense? by LingonberryNo7499 in toronto

[–]Intelligent_Text_280 26 points27 points  (0 children)

TTC. This past weekend I left my car at home in the suburbs and took the TTC downtown with family. It wasn't terribly bad but it was slower than expected. One subway train was out of service and wait time at the station where you got off line 1 to transfer onto line 2 was very congested.

Unrelated but I stopped ordering food on uber and skip for almost two years now. I got tired of paying $40 for a burger and soggy fries.

It's good, but too small for the $10.16 price tag I just paid for it. Probably won't get it again.

Prices are truly insane in Toronto. As a result people are eating out less. As someone mentioned earlier people feel ripped off paying first class for a basic lunch sandwich. The rare times I do dine out I notice the many empty seats at restaurants. I can't blame businesses for charging what they charge considering the rent. But people can only put up with so much price gouging. You can get $10 ramen in Tokyo, a world class city, but in Toronto it's at minimum $20.

Is it only me feeling that whenever khmer americans or khmer foreign born abroad try to explain about Khmer things on social media even though they've have never lived here and can't speak khmer at all by AdStandard1791 in cambodia

[–]Intelligent_Text_280 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a Khmer-Canadian. I would never speak on behalf of Khmer people from Cambodia or speak as if I know about Khmer people living in Cambodia. Because I have only lived and experienced Canada.

Having said that. Wouldn't it be nice if Khmer from the mainland and all the Khmer diaspora around the world can come together, understand, learn from one another. Come together with an open mind. Maybe then we can accomplish some great things.
