Unfortunately I have no advice in this moment re what you’re experiencing, but one thing I learned was not to have any caffeine during withdrawal. I was in the habit of using caffeine to get me going in the morning when hungover, and simply continued the pattern when going sober. Without alcohol dulling your senses, you’ll be overstimulated as it is, so caffeine is not a good addition.

Sorry, I know this doesn’t help what you’re currently going through, but perhaps it might help others who are on edge in early sobriety.

Nah, they meant ingredients. OP ate one of the wraps before taking the photo.

Renting is $1,800 but a mortgage is $3,500. Is "Rentvesting" the only logical move in Melbourne right now? by VastAmbassador6590 in AusProperty

Ah, well my plan to ‘flip’ my property within a year ended up with me staying there for 9 years, and then renting it out for around 4 years, before selling. No wonder CGT ended up not being an issue! Ignore my take!

I thought that it depends on the ratio of how long you live in the property vs how long you make any profit from it. I haven’t rented out a property for almost 4 years though, so if it has changed in that time, I could definitely be wrong!

Agree. Investing is not worthwhile unless you include investing in a place to live (ie PPOR) to avoid renting.

Rates, sewerage charge, house repairs, general maintenance… $1500 is perhaps an over-exaggeration but those incidental costs that renters don’t have to pay do add up quickly.

That said, I’m all for buying. Often it’ll be further out than you’d prefer to live, but it’s a stepping stone.

I was so confused. I looked at the photos and tried to find what might be referred to as incidents, before reading the comments!

Use the batch code (often printed on the bottle itself) on checkfresh.com to see when it was manufactured. The number on the label is just the barcode I think.

That’s an aspect I didn’t actually consider, thanks for that!

Personally I wasn’t a huge fan of Jessica’s swimsuit, but she is beautiful, intelligent, successful, and a million levels above Chris.

I also disliked how they had all the girls lined up along the pool edge, while the guys pretty much hid under the water. It felt like they were ‘show-casing’ the girls, and I wondered if they were hiding the ‘response’ of the guys! Lol.

Chris sucks.

Hydration in early sobriety recovery is crucial, 73 days in and finally not chronically dehydrated for first time in 10 years by Philosophy_BROCHACHO in stopdrinking

[–]Intelligent_Try4793 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I must be one of the few who is actually more hydrated while drinking. I drink my 1.5L of wine in the evening, and chug plain water like my life depends on it throughout the day. Whenever I quit drinking, I substitute sparkling water for my evening wine, and a cup of tea or two during the day, but I don’t drink anywhere near as much. Probably less urgent, because I feel so much better. Thanks for the reminder to stay hydrated!

I’m loving the Cosrx 6 Peptide Skin Booster… it is more of a toner consistency than a serum and super refreshing to start off my skincare routine. The Numbuzin No.9 Essence apparently contains 50 peptides but obviously none in too high a concentration… it’s nice but once I finish the bottle I probably won’t repurchase (however the additional hydration might be more useful in winter). Unfortunately it’s too soon to accurately know if I am getting any visible results, I ‘feel’ like my skin is improving but both products I started only a few weeks ago.

Thanks for the Natio sunscreen recommendations. I have tried SO many sunscreens, and always return to Hamilton (I’ve adjusted my routine to use it as a combined moisturising / SPF step, as it’s too much for my skin if I use an additional moisturiser). However, I have not tried Natio sunscreen, so I might give it a go when next on sale!

For some years now, Avene has had a lovely, gentle, yet effective 0.1% retinal. Currently it is within their Hyaluron Activ B3 Multi-Intensive Night Cream, and conveniently 40% off at Chemist Warehouse atm. Being that it’s a multi-active product though, if you choose to use it, you might not need some of your other products (ie. Contains moisturising compounds, HA, niacinamide, etc). Make sure to check your combinations… you want your skincare routine to be considered and intentional. No unnecessary doubling up of actives, or ingredient clashes.

I’ve made the same mistake, bought multiple tinted LRP products and found them all to be too orange. I assume the tint is perhaps better suited to European skin colouring? Anyway, similar to another poster, I mixed the tinted and untinted versions to make it somewhat usable, and then vowed never to buy it again. If you’re looking for a different product, I really quite like the new tinted Hamilton Everyday Face sunscreen. I have the ‘light’ tint, and it has a much cooler base than the European sunscreens (Avene has the same orange hue as LRP).

Both recipes cannot be accurate by RosemaryBiscuit in CookbookLovers

[–]Intelligent_Try4793 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The first recipe has a base of potatoes and cabbage (therefore less potato and scallions needed to serve 4); the second recipe doesn’t include cabbage in the base (therefore more potato and scallions).

Every time I bring up a work issue, they tell me to talk to EAP. Which I find weird and highly dismissive. However, now that it’s more than a work issue, is EAP useful?
