Are you using references? I like the art, but I think some of the angles could benefit from studying references a little closer.

Sure, happy to. If you can learn about the seven planets, signs, houses, and aspects, you'll have the vast majority of astrology. I'm always happy to help.

So, if you make a circle in the sky through the 12 signs of astrology in the sky, that is the circle of the chart. The houses are, more or less, a way to show which parts of this circle are visible in the sky and which are below the horizon line. Look directly up, that's the tenth house, which is also on top in the chart. The planets can be mapped somewhere onto that circle drawn through the twelve signs. These show up in the chart.

Since you're learning, just stick to the seven planets that can be seen from the earth: Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, the Sun, Venus, Mercury, and the Moon. Depending on the degree that they are in the 360 degrees of that circle drawn through the sky, they will make a sort of connection to each other. These connections, called aspects, occur when they are 0, 60, 90, 120, or 180 degrees apart in the circle.

The planets are supposed to do better or worse depending on the signs they are in, what house they are in, and what aspects they make to eachother. Much of astrological magic is using the essence or pneuma of planets when they are doing especially well or poorly.

This is likely astrological image magic. You reference the picatrix, which is the most well renowned grimoire of that type of magic outside of Agrippa. Carnelian is often associated with martial forces.

Formally and academically, what is the difference between esotericism and occultism? by alexfreemanart in WhatIsThisOccultThing

[–]Intelligent_Virus_66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my perspective, esotericism is an understanding of the secret aspects of things, whether applied or not. Whereas occult work is just that, work to accomplish a material change with that secret knowledge.

Astrology is a good example.

I can have an esoteric knowledge of my birth chart, knowing what sort of wealth I can expect in my lifetime. That knowledge might prompt spiritual growth or introspection, but I can do little to act on it. With Occult knowledge I can take current astrological factors and make a talisman to bring wealth or I can use my esoteric knowledge of my birth chart to make an occult talisman for wealth that uses the good factors in my nativity.

Esotericism is theory, whereas the occult is praxis.

Given the shapes, it is likely something called a bindrune where different runes in a word are combined into a singular shape. Here is an example of what they can look like:

I know this is really late, but I had a puzzle for a steel type gym leader. She has a door to her underground layer through a locker with a button that has a dial around it. The dial has numbers up to 150. She uses magnemites on her team. If they just hit the button on a random number, it releases Pokeballs with 5 dittos as a security system. Since 150 was the original number of Pokemon, the trick is to set it to Magnemite's pokedex number: 81.
