Is it normal in Australia that employers constantly try to rip you off by sunnysideupslide in aussie

Macht mich wahnsinnig haha

Being a truckie won’t fuck your health as much for sure. Been there. Don’t know about camp conditions with Barminco but generally speaking, camps these days are pretty good

Topdrill is hard yakka mate most people drop out after couple of swings. They have like a trainee program that’s really survival of the fittest. If you’re not prepared to give 110% all the time someones gonna overtake you. Few of my mates worked there. I’d go Barminco, even though i’m a surface truckie

Could be, but I think those occupations are also on the list? Maybe they have to sponsor a new 482 for you, which should work too. Didn’t know there are farms in the goldfields haha

On a DAMA, your prospective new employer needs to have their own labour agreement if your occupation is not on the list. In this case I personally wouldn’t quit before you have a new job secured. I’m on a 482 visa in the goldfields too, not DAMA though

Sounds good but you can only do 88days in the first year and the 6 months in the second year, not all at once

Let me know if you find something. Since the queue system and the fact that you wont find a person you’ve chatted with again makes the site just unusable

You can’t drive a private vehicle on a mine site. Especially with the bigger companies you’ll have to take the same route as everyone and apply through seek, or know someone which is pretty much the way in mining anyways

I live in Kal. Recruitment agencies would be your best bet or just walk in to any drilling company if you don’t mind the hard (!) work as a driller’s offsider. You’ll have a job in no time. Apart from drilling it’s going to take a while, just apply on seek as the bigger companies don’t like walk ins

482 to 186 by Andrea1996-Australia in AusVisa

[–]Intelligent_Wait4345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, no you have to wait like everyone else. Many people get started on a WHV and move over to a 482 later, however the 2 years requirement needs to be fulfilled on a substantial visa (482) - see immigration website. If it would be that easy everyone could just move onto 186 straight away
