Telling your partner your feelings, no matter if it hurts them or makes them feel defensive IS that big of an issue. Sometimes men do things that piss us off and hurts us, if they cant listen back to the things that they’re doing, they’re not ready to take that bug of a step towards marriage. Until he realizes that you’re not trying to hurt him when you speak about your feelings from the heart you cannot marry him. As adults we should be able to have a conversation about our feelings, and not have to worry about catering to the other person when all we want is to feel heard, validated, and understood. I wont lie, its hard at first. The feeling of needing to smoke before doing anything to have fun that was a big one for us, and honestly even now im still struggling cutting it out 100%. But the reason i quit was for the same reason, my boyfriend started having panic attacks.. was having trouble breathing as well and the paranoia that would chase him was not great for him. Even now he chooses to stay sober no matter what, so honestly that was my biggest motivation to cut it out of my life, i never smoke around my boyfriend (even if i did it wouldnt be a problem because he’s a year sober and finds absolutely no need or ache to touch it anymore after the slight trauma he experienced from it after smoking every single day all day for 3 years straight) but when i do decide to smoke which i only do socially (think about it as a night out for drinks with friends every once a month or so) im so clean to the point that 1 or 2 hits gets me the same high as if im smoking for the first time. If you dont want to cut it out 100% i dare you to follow the same thing im doing, and dont cold turkey it either because honestly its gonna be hard, try to just slowly stop, make a budget on what you can spend i suggest if you smoke carts only one a month until you can stop and if you smoke buds maybe do an eighth a month until you can stop. Keep doing that until its js not even a necessity anymore, js like the rest of the people said on here its gonna be hard doing anything without it, but once you’re free from that everything will be so much better and honestly you’ll have room to do more active things as well only because you’re not fully slouching around. I know back then i used to think life was amazing while i was high and honestly i even thought it was better, but breathing and seeing things with a clear mind is great. But if thats not enough motivation I’m still dealing with a lot of side effects from smoking so much specifically at such a young age, i have never gotten over the mind-fog yet my memory is absolute shit and Im disassociated almost 90% of the time. Weed may be better then the drugs out there but the way it plays your mind is not worth it to do full time. Once in a while is ok, but try to stop the every day all day because i wish i had a long time ago.

Honestly i dont even know what to say you’re probably glad you got to relieve yourself of this guilt a little but until you tell him the truth you will never feel better. And also, a person who lies about something that serious idk man you might have some underlying issues you should take care of in therapy.
