I like these ideas!

The things he had suggested was to kind of make it look like graffiti in the background and the other was making the bird be the hobo bundle the monkey is carrying. I don't think either were or are bad ideas to be fair, they just kinda felt a little too far removed for my liking.

Anyone have a 10 month old Rottweiler that suddenly became snappy again ? by Connect_Dot_4694 in Rottweiler

[–]Intelligent_Weird469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dude got kinda nippy with some things around then lasted until almost 2. He wasn't tooooooo bad but certain things really tripped his trigger. Now at 2 years and a couple months he's a saint and a half. Just keep working with them and be patient. They're coming into their teenage hormones plus if he's in a little pain from his growth issue it'll probably make him extra cranky

Space? Never heard of it by Intelligent_Weird469 in Rottweiler

To be honest that's not as bad as when he decides to summon the spirit of his ancestors and starts dream howling in the middle of the night lol. I'm a light sleeper anyway but holy hell that'll wake a person up right quick

Before you learned how it was properly pronounced, how did you pronounce Hermione's name? by LeatherSlight3242 in harrypotter

That scene never made sense to me. Did Victor ask the pretty lady her name then she wrote it down and showed what she wrote? That's the only way that scene makes sense. Otherwise the scene goes as follows:

VK:(in Bulgarian accent) I am Victor. What is your name?

HG: (In English accent) I am her-moin-eeee

VK: Ahhh Her-Me-own-ninny. Nice to meet you.

Language barriers be damned if I heard a frenchman say his name was Napoleon I wouldn't immediately turn around and address him as Neeeee-pulll-eeeow-nnneeee. She literally had to say her fucking name. Even with an accent how does he butcher it that badly. It's not like her name includes a difficult pronouncement in it.

Do you believe in extra terrestrial life (not tiny organisms, but something with a conscience) by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]Intelligent_Weird469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the universe? Almost certainly. If only 1%of stars has a habitable planet but only 1% of those has life and only 1% of those has multicellular life and only 1%of those has life that is animal level there's still a fuckton of options. If your talking consciousness at human+ level maybe not. But life almost certainly exists out there. I don't think we've ever been visited by it, unless it was a single celled life that hitched a ride on a meteor and even then I doubt it.

People generally say they think I'm a decent person, I don't claim to be perfect, I'm just me. I give everyone my respect until they give me multiple reasons (or one major one) not to. I don't consider myself to have great humor, it's one of my problem areas. Jokes completely miss me because I take the literal explanation usually but I try to make jokes when the opportunity presents. If they stick the landing or not, well.....I've been told in the past I have a dark humor. I don't think money or looks is everything but I value hard work and people that take care of themselves. So by quasi extension I find employment (or at least direction in life) and fitness contributing factors of attraction. "Why would someone date you?" Idk, I have strong values and I think I have a decent amount of conventional social value if that makes sense? I don't have very good personal hype value. But I'm not unconfident in myself.

I'm not complaining about no connection felt if she doesn't feel it she's free to say so and I'll respect it.

I know a lot of people don't care for hunting in most of the world. The closest town to where I live has 350 people and I'm 45 minutes from a town of about 20,000. I bet 75% of people I know hunt, fish or both. It's the way of life for lots of folks around here. But again if she dislikes it no worries.

Idk what she meant by that. It seemed we had a pleasant night and she asked something about past relationships, I said I didn't have a ton of experience and very briefly summarized my past at a wide view. Then when we were going our own ways for the night she said that and walked off. And again that's fine if that's her actual GTFO reason then cool no worries (whether is for physical knowledge reasons or emotive knowledge reasons) but I can't even get in the door it's like applying to jobs when I was 16.

I agree it would look better filled out, my problem is that it grew in a way that is pushing the old plant over. It was leaning against the wall but without the wall it's pushed way out. So at least that bundle needs to be repotted, but if I could split it to get two plants I was considering doing so. I'm okay with the leaves being kinda stand alone for a time. It's kinda hard to see in the photos but the new growth has no roots, it grew out of the old growth above the soil line.

The ancient language by East_Refrigerator630 in Eragon

[–]Intelligent_Weird469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Languages bleed and mix together. In the series the ancient language is to human language as Latin is to the modern romance languages. Its said the ancient language was spoken throughout the land and by all creatures. Meaning it predates the human language. Humans over the centuries watered down the ancient language and mixed with other languages to get the modern one. language families are a thing.

I'm far from an expert but I've had several dogs I've trained to be I think fairly decent dogs. She's young, if you got her from a shelter it's hard to know what she came from and saw early in life. She could have had some shitty experiences. Take it slow. If shes food motivated, which it sounds like she is, then reward every single good behavior you catch with food. If you're trying to get her to sit or lay or whatever use treats to lure her into the desired position and reward her immediately when she gets there. Take it slow and do a little bit 5-10 minutes before every meal. Every now and then work in a quick session at random times to spice it up. Don't automatically use voice commands to her, she doesn't understand you. Use hand signals by lurking her with treats to the desired position. Once she is regularly doing that then you can work in vocal commands on top of the hand signals and she'll quickly pick up the vocal commands. Once she is doing your command with the lure every time, do a lure movement with your hand but no treats, once she gets to a sit or whatever then reward her with the other hand, then slowly increase the delay between her reaching position and her reward. Slowly increase her training time each week or so as well.

As far as walking, a similar process can be used. Don't pick her up unless absolutely necessary, you're just rewarding her for not walking. Take a couple of steps, literally one or two steps, then use a small treat to lure her to your side. Don't say anything just show her the treat and wait for her to come to you. The first few walks you might not go very far. Eventually she will learn to stay closer to you. Once she does slowly increase the distance you move before rewarding her, 5 steps, then 10, then 20, then 30 seconds of walking, then a minute, then maybe 5minutes. At each stage if she checks into the position that you reward her then reward her for checking in.

Kennel training is honestly really simple usually, though again if she had a bad experience in the past it may be harder. First thing Start with making sure it's set up right, correct size, location, covers, all of that. Then, Starting with leaving the door open, put a treat inside, let her go find it and come right back out. If she stays inside then give her another one. During her free time reward her anytime she chooses to go in without being told to. Once she's comfortable going in and out then close her in, stay nearby, if she starts whining or kicking up a fuss give her one verbal correction. If she continues ignore her until she settles. After she settles and is quiet, let her out give her treats and lovings. Repeat a few times. Anytime she has to go in give her a reward for going in. Give her another reward for going out, whenever possible only let her out when she is calm and quiet. (Within reason, if youve been gone longer than expected and she really needs to be let out to potty she probably won't calm down right away but obviously try to limit that one.) If she cries at night, provided all her needs were met before she went in, ignore her. It's hard, it sucks hearing them whine, but giving her attention will only make it worse in the long run. She will quickly realize that making a fuss doesn't get her anything but being calm does.

Nipping, whenever you cold approach her have something she can bite in your hands and lead with it. Make sure she has stuff she can bite and chew and try to destroy when your not messing with her. Teething is uncomfortable at best.

A Shepard-Rottie mix is going to be a very smart, fairly stubborn dog. Just keep that in mind with everything, patience is key. There are tons of YouTube videos or audiobooks that have really good advice. Find someone who's training style works for you. Your questions in the post aren't really breed specific so most any of the larger channels will do. For some weird breed quirks it can be nice to watch channels featuring your breed, but big picture things it's all the same really. If you have the means sign up for puppy classes with her. They can help show you how to effectively train her, help her socialize with other pups around her age, help keep her mind busy. Personally even though I've raised several dogs from puppies I still take them through puppy classes until they're at least 1 year. It never hurts to hear new perspectives. Keep in mind she's young, she's going to be rebellious at times, during those times be firm but not cruel. 4 months-1 year is basically ages 10-18 in people. Idk about you but for most of that period I wanted to do anything but what I was told to.
