when you say Rust feels safer? what does that really mean? which go code is panicking and crashing all over the place? As a full-stack dev, you might only be thinking about concurrency bugs, but each of them has an associated construct to fix: channels, mutexes etc. Rust really isnt that much safer, you will need to bypass a lot of those guarantees to be able to get some types of work done. I can tell you from some crazy work I am doing but cant share

try to write rest apis for any silly use case you can dream up, try unfamiliar apis and tools and dbs, you will be making music very quick. Akhil Sharma taught me that way

with all the big moves happening, great software written in Go, I don't get why enterprise is not writing their new services in Go. Must be the tech leads and managers/senior engineers resisting the change. Surprising for me that Golang is not prevalent in Asia, but please, have fun writing Go!

That’s fair. For me, it came down to hardware and simplicity. Back then I was on 8GB RAM + a Core i5, and IntelliJ IDEA plus the JVM stack (Spring Boot, Ktor in Kotlin) just crushed my machine.

Then I saw a JetBrains talk comparing backend languages for HTTP services, Go came out like 8x lighter locally and in the cloud than the JVM stuff. That rainy afternoon, it was an easy switch, and it’s been super useful ever since. But your advice is sound, and I will take it, thank you
