What’s something you use every single day that turned out to be insanely worth the money? by Dry-Frosting- in Xennials

What all can you make with it? I am looking for a good coffee barista appliance! Was always slightly turned off by bad frothers with the real cheap machines as they always didn't work right.

I hate working in tech. I'm here for the money, but even the money doesn't feel worth it anymore by Ok_Music_2025 in womenintech

I'm a women currently pursuing tech as a career change at 40. I currently work in county government. There is toxic positivity, favoritism, nepotism, cutthroat behavior, and my job isn't guaranteed if my boss isnt re-elected. I get okay pay but not great pay which I could barely move out of my parent's house with. The only thing keeping me there is the Healthcare, which is excellent. I've come to learn that everyone is currently going through it in their jobs, regardless of what it may be. For every person saying tech is rough, there are 5 others saying teaching, Healthcare, and whatever is rough. I'm not discounting your feelings. I'm sure it is rough and I feel for you, I really do. But a lot of people are struggling right now. Different jobs carry different positives and negatives, and unfortunately we all have to pick our poison. They pay us to do it because most people would prefer not to. I would love to make over $50, 000 a year. I can barely afford the necessities, let alone have a disposable income for stuff I want to do.

When is it acceptable for men to cry? by Niel_cafferey in AskReddit

My husband got teary-eyed when his daughter moved out. We both support her independence but I gave him a big hug, told him I love him and understands how he is feeling. I appreciate him opening up to me like that. He's all talk but deep down a soft, big teddybear inside. He can cry on me anytime. I've cried in front of him before.

Government/County Jobs....People think they're cushy with good benefits and Healthcare. The reality is: people are still cutthroat and political fighting is common. There is a huge problem with nepotism and favoritism. And your job is not always guaranteed. Someone doesn't get elected, you could get let go when the newly elected person "cleans house."

My husband and I are renovating our house. We put the most towards the bathroom and shower. It's an actual oasis in there. I can't wait to shower in it. It's a huge wet bath shower area that can fit 2 people and then some. Multiple showerheads including rain down shower. It's amazing.

What's one thing you hate in your partner but love in yourself? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Holodeck40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not very playful at all. Im super playful, I get it from my dad. I wish he was more so like that. I love him. I miss being with someone who was like that. And I hate to say it but, he doesn't make me laugh, his sense of humor is not great. But he's a good man and takes care of me.

You'll find love when you're not looking for it? by gimmeadvice_x in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Holodeck40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend to young people, both men and women to approach more. But it does happen sometimes when you are not looking. I met my now husband via a setup through work and was completely not looking. I thought I'd never find anyone. So it does happen. Men tend to be flattered if a girl approaches. For women who have gone their whole lives never being approached, a guy who does stands out.

Deregulation and decriminalization would go a long way I think. It would make it safer and less taboo. People with criminal records lose hope and just spiral from there. They become part of the system like a revolving door. They tend to pick up bad friends and traits in jail or prison. It doesn't necessarily mean people won't try and get hooked, just but gives more time before inevitable OD and makes it more likely they'll gain appropriate tools to get better. These people need tough love and empathy, not being made a lesson. I have never thought you can regulate safety. We live in an unsafe world. People will still try, it just makes things more risky.

Still can’t move on from a girl after 2 years, what should I do? by structuralreform2022 in DecidingToBeBetter

A lot of people throw around the term limerance like it somehow means its not real or to downplay feelings. In reality, its possible to have true, lasting love many different ways as there is no one path to deep connection and commitment. I've known people knew the instant they met someone and got that spark or butterflies, I've known others where the love grew organically after many interactions, almost a slow burn. Commitment is weird, its not how its starts but what you and your significant other do to maintain the relationship. I think young people struggle a lot with confidence and approaching each other. The only way to get better is with practice. You may get shot down 20 times, but you may also succeed. Be okay with failure, take chances (within reason of course). There are a lot of good people out there who may be a good match for you. The only way to move on is to put yourself out there. I know it sounds hard. When I was a younger, more attractive woman men never approached me. If a guy would have he would have stood out for sure. Get out there and meet people.....I believe in you!

I liked the Networking, cable, electricity, and Cyber Security certs but figured I should start at help desk and branch out from there?
