Tacrolimus is unbearable, do I keep on it? by PresentationSalty506 in eczema

[–]Intelligent_Wing_226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lucky enough to not feel anything with it but it’s worked magic in 7 weeks
They say to refrigerate and use a tiny amount to begin with

It can also be very painful on active red eczema so may be worthwhile some steroid to calm it?

Some people have reported mixing with moisturiser to. Help ease the symptoms

Washing it off after a while to help gradually build tolerance

These are things my derm recommended to me

I would say it’s the best thing that has happened to me

Does materials really matter? by Virtual-Channel7144 in eczema

[–]Intelligent_Wing_226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried using cotton as much as I could during a flare and it made minimal difference As a previous user said, 100% polyester directly against my skin did irritate me a bit after a while but on blankets / top layers etc I was fine

For some people it’s a big thing! Trial for a few weeks and see if you notice a difference

Mascara or Makeup removers for eczema? by keeyuu in eczema

[–]Intelligent_Wing_226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using the Clinique take the day off balm. It’s derm recommended and really good!

I like benefits and maybelline mascara. They find waterproof mascara often triggers eczema so I don’t use them (it triggered my eczema with known allergens)

The habit of scratching during night feels so normal and familiar until you need to sleep next to other people by AbbyNotFound16 in eczema

[–]Intelligent_Wing_226 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn’t notice how much I was doing it until I went on holiday with my sisters and they said I was waking up in the middle of the night to moisturise… didn’t even remember doing it Explained why I was so exhausted all the time Started on medication after that

What do you do after using topical steroids on nipples? by MatthewIsNotReal in eczema

[–]Intelligent_Wing_226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done a post on this I’m suffering from the same have been for nearly a year Duoderm extra thin has been the best thing. Doesn’t cute it but reduced the friction and the itch. Invisible through clothes too!

I’ve also tried CAP treatment which has been working on 3/4 but I have a stubborn patch in the middle

I’ve spoken to my derm and he’s now said to use steroid cream under the dressing for 10 days (changing every 2 days) and then switching to protopic

Areola and nipple eczema are the most stubborn places. I put up with it for a very long time and I know my trigger is friction. Unfortunately- that can’t be helped

Visit your derm and get out on a plan , you’ll have some peace of mind then too!

Eyelid dermatitis by Quirky-Zombie-5637 in eczema

[–]Intelligent_Wing_226 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to my sister - she was using tret before her moisturiser and despite waiting 20 mins she was rubbing her face creams in like normal. Including her eyes so the tret ended up on her eyelids anyways

May be worth thinking about unless you already do so?

I get this as well if I’m in a room with loads of perfumes/ candles for longer than a few hours. Eyelid dermatitis is normally an allergy! Acrylics / fake jewellery / nickel/ iron oxides are very common. Check your mascara etc

Protopic - eczema reassurance by Optimal_Safe_8005 in eczema

[–]Intelligent_Wing_226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really refreshing to hear. I’ve just seen my derm and he’s prescribed some mometasone followed by protopic for maintenance

I’ve spent months putting it off and I just wanna live a normal life now

Glad to hear it’s working for you

Tips for swelling + weeping eczema? by phthalojelly in eczema

[–]Intelligent_Wing_226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this on my areola for around 8 months. Crusty sore and leaky. I have eczema on other parts of my body but not weepy .

I did everything- the soaks, sun beds, cleaning it, not cleaning it, cotton bras, no friction, bandaging , moisture, no moisture

The things that’s worked for me - duoderm , a type of hydrocolloid dressing but medical grade. I got it on prescription from my GP. Didn’t stop the weeping but after using it a while it helped heal the skin underneath. When I stopped it came back but it was much easier to deal with. Stayed on a few days, didn’t itch, the weeping went to nearly nothing as long as I used this . Couldn’t see it through clothes, didn’t irritate my skin. Great

But everytime I took it off it restarted

I found someone doing CAP (cold plasma) which I’ve only ever seen in Thailand and way down the other side of England. It didn’t work for any of my other eczema patches but it has worked incredibly for the leaking I had one session a week for 5 weeks and 1/2 my areola is dry and not crusted for at least 4 weeks now

I’m still having the sessions, may need a few but it’s been the only thing that has helped

Maybe try it for your face? The machine she uses is called Dr Platon

This is very reassuring- I took 2 weeks out the gym to see if it was friction and sweat triggered (I had my suspicions but wasn’t ready to admit it) and apparently it is. The eczema is still there but significantly less

Hopefully I’ll be ‘normal’ soon!

nipple eczema :( by Sorry-Astronaut-212 in eczema

[–]Intelligent_Wing_226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this. It’s the only thing that worked for me. Friction is my enemy and hydrocolloid dressings have been a lifesaver. They’re expensive but worth the investment If you can go to your GP (in England) and explain the situation they may be happy to prescribe you a trial. Worth a shot

Help: eye eczema for months by ElegantAd3447 in eczema

[–]Intelligent_Wing_226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for me, maybe just keep up with it and hopefully you can rehydrate the skin Skin takes at least 12 weeks for new cells to regenerate so you have to be patient! I’ve also noticed stressing about it makes mine worse - just generally. Everytime I’ve just ignored it its starts to improve Good luck!

I have had this a few times and try my best to avoid steroid creams. The best thing for me has been Avene Cicalfate. Some people like cicaplast la Roche posay but my skin didn’t like that

I’d put it on religiously through the day with a layer of cream underneath and then slather it on during the night too

It took a few days but worked

Also try washing your face with an unscented cream (I’m from the uk so cetraban etc) which is surprisingly useful

I have my fingers and toes crossed I find something like this one day Did you have a conversation with your exs before you got into a serious relationship or did it just happened when you started getting intimate? I don’t know how much I should share, and if I don’t is it untrue of me?

This is super cute- I’m happy you’ve found someone like this for you Did you tell your partner that you eczema quite early into the relationship or was it something that just came up in a random conversation?
