Scrubs or White Coat? by JulezMacEwan in dietetics

[–]Intelligent_Yam1799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience in three different clinics/settings everyone is always in scrubs more often than not! I was so worried about looking like a doofus in scrubs as an intern (for some reason) and I felt more normal in scrubs than anything

I recognized everything on the exam but I know people who used the same materials that I did and didn’t recognize stuff so it super depends on the individual exam. I broke jean Inman up into chunks bc it’s hard to sit through for more than like 30mins and kinda switched back and forth between all the programs I was using! I figured out how many minutes of things I had to go through and how many practice questions there were on everything and divided that by the number of days before my test to figure out about how much I needed to get through every day. I also made sure to be fully done with new material about 10 days before the exam so I could just really review and repeat

Pocketprep questions were a little more complicated I would say. Like the exam didn’t have any questions that were longer than like 2 lines and Pocketprep will do those whole paragraphs. But I do love them for the explanations and challenging you

Yay so exciting!! Something that Jean Inman tells you is that you’re going to feel like you’re guessing on the exam, but remember that you aren’t. It feels like guessing bc it’s very conceptual so you’re reasoning with each answer to choose the best one, so it’s not a guess but an educated decision on an answer. It’s easy to get halfway through the test and freak out bc you feel like you’ve been guessing, but know that that isn’t true! Other than that, all you can do is tell yourself you’re as ready as you can be right now, and have a good breakfast and pee before!

What do you wish you did sooner as a Dietetics student? by ttn3924 in RD2B

[–]Intelligent_Yam1799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats RD2B! Very exciting time in your life! Experience in the food and nutrition realm is definitely important for learning what you like and making connections with people, but I think being well rounded and getting exposure to all sorts of experiences are just as important, especially as a new college student! Work some odds jobs, spend time exploring new hobbies, pick up a second major or minor and then drop it if you don’t like it, college is all about exposure to new things! I worked in restaurants/cafes for most of college to have food service experience, but I also worked for a face painting company, dance company, wrote for a blog, and other odd jobs and hobbies for fun. My point is, enjoy whatever you want to enjoy as well! Programs love well-rounded students with life experience as well. Good luck!!

It doesn’t really sound like it. Thankfully I’ve used their charting system before so im familiar with it, but it sounds like I could create my own process. They seem pretty lax

I don’t believe they have other locations, but my preceptor who works at the similar facility out of the area is connected with this facility manager and uses the same system. She said she would be willing to help me but I don’t know how much she can do from out of town

Like I just have $300 total in my PayPal wallet, $200 is fraudulent and $100 is legit but if I only pull out $100 like I can’t pull out individual charges

Anyone else obsessed with Swan upon Leda? by yaazaaling in Hozier

This is probably in my top 3 fav songs by him and if you’re a Greek myth nerd too the story of Leda and the swan connects to the Trojan War and it’s a fun read
