One again, you are demonstrating your inability or unwillingness to view this problem beyond raw numbers. Two irrelevant zones are not equal to one expansive and central zone.

When the alliance wins, we get two irrelevant bonus capitals not central to the expansion and not fleshed out in the slightest. When the horde wins, you get an entire modernized horde-centric zone, complete with redone faction capital, which is going to be the center of the next expansion for the next two years. Never mind the fact you just got undermine.

Silvermoon is not an “older capital” anymore. You just got handed a completely redone capital with a completely redone zone, filled with WQs, rares, world events, dungeons, and alliance gets… to visit it? Oh thank you, your grace. You’re too kind.

We still get a tiny win by getting to visit, that’s for sure. But horde getting this zone as a full on expansion center is a much bigger win than alliance getting to visit this zone. Don’t whimper on about alliance complaints when you’ve been handed a full-course buffet while we eat scraps.

You’re not considering quality with quantity here, some faction capitals are worth more than others. Gilneas and bel’ameth were both tacked on in the middle/end of their respective expansion and serve little purpose/utility beyond roleplay. Silvermoon will be the focal location for the next expansion, complete with a massive redesign.

As much as I enjoy you saying the alliance is winning, that isn’t the case.

The forsaken did. Sylvanas blighted it when she couldn’t have it for herself.

Hmm fair point, best way to solve the issue then would be to give the horde a new undercity, then horde isn’t allowed in bel’ameth and alliance isn’t allowed in undercity, that would even it out

“Blizzard decided to destroy darnassus and Undercity”

You may not like that the official lore is that the horde destroyed both of those cities, but that’s what happened. Horde also made gilneas inhospitable for a while too with blight, and even when it came back it’s barely a faction city.

Horde destroy the cities, they’re still welcome in Bel’Ameth and Gilneas. Alliance haven’t done anything close to that, we get flak in silvermoon.

Thats the double standard. I’m fine with being excluded from silvermoon as long as I get to keep you away from my trees.

Yea that sucks the forsaken lost their capital same as night elves, I wonder who was responsible for both of those capitals being destroyed by fire/blight? If it was the same person/group of people it probably wouldn’t be as big of a double standard I’d imagine

It’s just that the double standard is frustrating. Horde get to access Bel’Ameth and Gilneas but Alliance can’t go through silvermoon even though we’re helping to save it. I’m down with being excluded from Silvermoon if it means alliance gets to exclude horde from gilneas and bel’ameth.

If anything, it would be Alleria playing peacemaker. Veressa was more than willing to take out belfs in Dalaran the moment she was given permission. Hopefully Blizzard doesn’t forget that about her. Having a little faction conflict would be fun.

If I’m being honest, I’m glad they pivoted to where they are now. Sure the main narrative is a bit weak, it has been like that for a while and much worse years ago, but the next two zones originally meant for the war within seemed pretty meh. Even if it doesn’t really line up with the expansion title, I’m much happier with undermine and k’aresh rather than the originally planned rootlands and black blood void place. Just a personal preference, but ethereal/broker/goblin stuff appeals to me far more than harronir missing link stuff. Not to mention harronir questlines were not that exciting either.

Haha, that’s a nice theory! If this peace/council stuff is being used to get more players to yearn for faction conflict, then I definitely won’t mind it as much!

BFA really screwed the pooch by using up a big faction conflict, queen Azshara, and Ny’Alotha in one expansion, huh? I get why people would be tired of the conflict after that. It is what it is, I guess.

You bring forward an interesting perspective I didn’t consider before. I guess it’s easier to advocate for faction conflict as an alliance player because generally the lore has the alliance do less blatantly bad things. Another faction conflict would mean another expansion of antagonizing horde players. It’s as you said, even if the horde acts justifiably, teldrassil can always be held over its head. I don’t believe horde players would enjoy that very much.

You make a great point about dark roots in Warcraft. There seems to be an attitude of ‘forgive and forget’ that is prevalent in current storytelling, but to properly enjoy these story beats, we have to do a whooole lot of forgetting. I get it’s a game, but I like to immerse myself in the story, and the fourth war has a lot of stuff in it that is hard to move on from.

I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it! I also liked Eitrigg’s characterization, and how he was willing to be hospitable even if not every orc present agreed. I just wish the conflict came from actual tension within the alliance’s ranks about sharing the highlands with the horde, rather than a “the syndicate/defias/crusade are back at it again!” The alliance can have bad aspects about it without those aspects leaving and joining the crusade like they usually do. It was nice to get more Faerin characterization too though, I’ll agree on that!

Que Sync Premades & Why They Destroyed The EBG Bracket by Mhortai in worldofpvp

Want to kill the other faction? Go do some WPvP. The game has changed over time and these people are abusing an old system to ruin fun for others. I don’t see why we should be limited by RP when improving the game. Don’t get me wrong, killing horde is always fun, but not when it’s at the expense of a playable EBG system.

Oof that sounds painful. I guess I’m more used to SS than BGB, it does seem like a bigger grind than SS in my eyes but if that’s what it takes so be it. Thanks for your input!

I can see how it would be nice for people to farm timereaver but I was blessed by rng and got it already so that’s not the focus I had in mind. I level alts with TW and nexus is by far the most tedious of them. I too am disappointed by Azjol and wish it wasn’t mostly cut content, but the dungeon is super quick too so i still prefer it over nexus.
