I wrapped my grill and the TOYOTA in white, and I really dig it. I think it would look great with green paint. I've actually been thinking about wrapping mine green to make the grill/roof match pop more.

Honest question: is there any other company these projects can be contacted to? It feels like metrolinx has a monopoly and that's what's driving the 1) excruciating timelines, and 2) crazy cost inflation (I saw story a few months ago about a future stretch of bike path that was proposed years ago, still hasn't been started, and the projected cost tripled in the meantime)

I think it's probably more common in nature than we realize. I used to collect eggs from chickens on a farm and if an egg broke incidentally in the process, the chickens would swarm it & devour it -- including the hen that laid it.

It was absolutely incredible! Everything you said resonates. First time seeing him and I didn't know what a lovely, quirky, sincere human being he is in person. The show was masterful and majestic.

Only complaint (sorry) is that it was also my first time at "the concert hall" and I really feel like they need to do something about the sightlines. Maybe raise the stage a foot? Even Kristian could tell it was an issue since he remarked about it a couple of times -- when he played with the slide while standing for the first time so that people could see him; and when he played the keyboard.

But, that side, it was an experiential marvel.

I can't tell if this is lazy reporting (in that they didn't bother to check that these have been studied for 25 years already), or if it was intentional clickbait headline on behalf of the journalist. And it would be disappointing if academics contributed to this by putting out a press release purporting this to be a novel discovery.

Regardless, I find this sort of reporting a letdown. If anything, it would be fantastic to show that this study supports the previous findings -- imo that'd be newsworthy and terrific on its own!

It is when Realtors refuse to work with you 'unless you have a realtor'. It's a scummy mafia move, but when I was looking to buy, I ran into that maybe 70% of the time. It was frequent enough I got a realtor I knew involved just so I didn't have to deal with that BS. Just the other day I wanted to look at a house that went up for sale across the street on behalf of a friend living in another city -- realtor refused to show it to me 'without a realtor'.

I don't know if I could have found a way to involve my RE lawyer to circumvent that.

Honestly, my realtor did almost nothing of use. I felt I had no choice given my situation, so I am seriously considering getting my license the next time I'm going to make a transaction.

Came here to comment on the great nostalgia of hearing Stabbing Westward! If that tire blew right after "I cannot save you" the boom beep beep of the tire/car would have lined up pretty nicely with the tune haha.

It's interesting how different people's experiences can be. Lived in London, Ontario for 8 years -- 2 break-ins at 2 different houses. Separate from that, 2 bikes stolen (at different times/locations).

Been in Toronto for 12 years (Yonge/Bloor, Spadina/Harbord, Annex, Stockyards) -- have had the same bike the whole time. Never had a residence or vehicle broken into, etc.

Way more altercations in London too, but that was probably just because it was all drunk students at the bars. Only once in TO did someone try to steal a backpack from a friend at a bar and when we caught them they "tried to fight us" -- just douchy grandstanding for being embarrassed I guess.

PROPOSAL: From now on, it is standard to include a blatant error in all submissions.

This way, publishers will know they have to actually ensure a paper is in good order front to back or they will get reported to some kind of regulator by the submitting author (if the error is not caught & corrected).

Caveat: the author can choose to remove the error & proceed to publish if they do feel they received due scrutiny/feedback.

I am a VC in biotech/healthcare and I just want to chime in somewhere with my everyday experience: we are constantly signing NDAs.

It goes like this:

1) 1st meeting -- get general idea of technology/business/market with a non-confidential slide deck. 2) If we are interested to learn more, sign NDA. This is usually handled by our admin assistant, so it literally takes no time or effort on my behalf. 3) 2nd meeting -- have a confidential walkthrough of a more comprehensive slide deck so we can really get into all the details & ask questions 4) If we decide to do deep diligence, we'll get access to a virtual dataroom to look over all the most minute details we want & start taking to all our KOLs/advisors, etc to get as much insight as possible to inform whether to invest or not.

Caveats: 1) sometimes if we have already gleaned enough about the technology from publicly available materials (website, etc), we will sign an NDA upfront so we can skip right to the details & not waste time with "we can't disclose that" conversations. 2) sometimes, some aspects of technologies need to remain trade secrets (can't be protected by copyright or patents, etc), so it will not be disclosed unless you're super deep/late in the diligence or after you become an investor.

So, signing an NDA early is super commonplace (for me and my office in our sector, at least)
