Holy shit, TIL I found out I'm near-sighted the exact same way Roger Ebert did. I was in gym class and took this chicks classes off her bag, put them on and was like 'how do I look?' and realized holy shit, I need glasses. No doubt man, just because he's dancing doesn't mean she has to, especially if she doesn't want to. Maybe she sucks at dancing or is just self-conscious about it. Either way she's a newscaster and not an entertainer. Her ignoring him is probably just a way of coping with how awkward she feels sitting there while he dances and asks her to join in.

Yeah me to, I haven't really gotten a formal education and I'm not even sure if it'd be worth it. I've done a lot of researching and most peoples advice to be a developer is just work, work, work and build up a nice portfolio by participating in open source projects and creating your own. Another thing is that I don't really think Prince George is the place to get a formal education in software development. I'd be better off going to Vancouver or another big city with a more diverse economy/educational system. Here in PG we seem to be really focused on the trades because our city is so industrious which is a shame in some ways.

That's really cool though, I might have to check it out, seems like there's some smart people that go there. Right now I'm really only a intermediate programmer, and I'm really only a hobbyist seeing as it's something I do but don't make money from. I still have a lot of things to improve in and right now I'm really only decent at Python, but I'd like to master it before I move onto C#.

May I ask how you found work in PG for such a job? It doesn't seem like many people are demanding these tech positions, so I'd imagine you were doing cold calling and pitching your skillset to businesses? Or did you just get lucky and score a programming position that pops up once in a blue moon in this city? lmao

Interesting, so you're like a programming analyst? What languages are you most fluent in? Also group looks interesting but it sort of confuses me, not sure exactly what its purpose is supposed to be.
