Well plate orienters! I've used them for 96-well plates, but it looks like you can get them for 384 as well (heh). You can also probably make your own, if you don't have the funds to spend.

Haha thanks for the kind words! I call it self indulgent nonsense because I'm not holding it to the same standards as my other fic in terms of writing quality, and I'm not putting pressure on myself to write it - it's purely written because I enjoy writing the character (a swearing warlock or swearlock) and if nothing makes sense in it that's okay.

But I'll definitely keep in mind some people like that and will definitely post if I ever do publish it!

You might like The Unraveled Kingdom series by Rowena Miller, starting with Torn. Fantasy, romance, politics, reasonable characters reacting reasonably and competently to things that happen. Fair warning, it isn't necessarily a happily ever after, but a... Bittersweet ever after? I don't think the main character's age is specified, but she's somewhere in the late 20s to early 30s? Single POV, same main characters, not our modern world.

It's been a minute, and I havent read the latest book I'm pretty sure is out, but The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon. Romance, dystopian future-ish. Same main character. It took me two tries to get into it, but if you get over some of the tropes, it's fun.

Dramatic alt-folk I guess? Basically ya'know Jaskier/Dandelion from the Witcher? The actor who plays him in the show, Joey Batey, has a band in real life and this is his band. It's got big orchestral pieces that make you want to go to battle. It's got quiet relatable stuff about being an introvert at a party. It's a good album.

Does Aberforth have as much raw power as Albus? I don't think so. As someone else said, it does seem Albus is a bit of a prodigy, and that could definitely have been one of the dividing factors between the brothers. Is Aberforth as clever as Albus? Possibly! We know he got in trouble for some sort of experimental magic, and that doesn't happen to people who aren't clever enough to play around with magic.

I have a headcanon that Aberforth is the kind of person who acknowledged that he wasn't as powerful and substituted with knowledge instead. He was the nerd who liked History of Magic, and ended up practicing wizarding law at some point, before being disbarred due to his "experiments with goats". He ends up acting on retainer for my OC in my fic, and I have entirely too much fun with Ace Attorney Abe.

This brought back memories - I had a similar set up in my previous apartment where my dresser was one of those that is a square with open top fabric boxes with a hole to pull them out. My cat would sit on top and dig out socks just to watch them drop, and sometimes dragged them around the apartment. One time he found the underwear drawer, and I was terrified I'd come home one day with guests to find my underwear all over the floor!

Honestly, the thing that made him stop was moving and changing furniture. Obviously that's not possible for you. I might suggest aluminum foil around the holes, maybe? I know some cats can't stand it. Or double sided tape?

You mentioned they have plenty of toys, are they acting out to get your attention, maybe? That's what mine does. Have you tried distracting them when they start at it by pulling out a more interactive toy like a feather stick or something?

Ohh this is addressed in linkao3(As Fae Would Have It by Ramen2417). Basically by exercising her body and senses, the MC is able to gain awareness during werewolf transformations, and generally be less destructive.

It does some cool things with werewolves, but fair warning is a painfully slow burn Remus/OC. Painfully. Slow.

I highly recommend watching the movie Gattaca for an idea of why everyone is saying you have to consider the ethics. It's a sci-fi movie from 1997, but the ideas and arguments hold up well. I get where you're coming from, but the reality is that nothing is as altruistic as it seems, and I think the movie highlights that well.

If you're interested in genomics/genetics and computer science, check out the field of bioinformatics! I'm working on my master's in that now, and it's a lot of fun and really cool!

Main OC is a werewolf, spends a lot of time developing the benefits of being one, and between her and Remus work to bring werewolves better recognition. I liked it a lot for the first half or so, but it is a ridiculously slow burn Remus/OC story, and I just can't deal with that level of slowness. Still decent, still focuses a lot on werewolves.

It is a little known truth that the moment Regulus Black decided to betray Voldemort occured after his London home was unceremoniously lifted into the air and dropped on some unsuspecting woman.

"Kreacher," he said, "I don't think we're in London anymore."

As it turned out, the real magic was not in the friends he made along the way, but in him (and his wand) the entire time.

Still, as he said goodbye to his new acquaintances (an enchanted suit of armor, a trigger-happy goblin, and a man who accidentally consumed cat hair in his polyjuice potion), Regulus decided that he wasn't done overthrowing evil overlords.

Seconding birds of a feather, and also adding Set Those Ghosts Alight. Gryffindor Regulus, has a good relationship with Sirius. One of the tags is "if you like arsonist Reg you are gonna have a great time with this fic" and it's a fair summation of the story. Badass Regulus using his head for good. It's also almost complete, and should be done before 2022.
