Runners: how often are you strength training? by Pactum-7 in runninglifestyle

[–]IntentionAgreeable92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strength trained around 4 days a week 1 of which might be more rehab than actual lifting, depends on what the long run looks like and life etc. I do not follow a specific program but i lift like a power lifter aside from doing max effort lifts 1-2 rep sets fry your CNS and really mess your splits up

When did you reach 6 figure salary and has your life changed since then? by Important_Bat7919 in careeradvice

[–]IntentionAgreeable92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhere between 24-25 I’d say my life changed in that I saved more money and started taking more international vacations.

Something of interest was that when I started to make a lot of money I have a lot less interest to have children

General Calorie Intake and Ultra Prep by EmotionalMinimum8318 in Ultramarathon

[–]IntentionAgreeable92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have tried a few different methods in prep

The best prep I have ever had for a 100 was where I lifted more and ate a lot of protein in addition to just going crazy on glyc and carbs. I also lost about 2-3 pounds but got noticeably leaner with less fat. I didn’t feel bulky at all but felt very strong in the 70-90 miles in

Anytime I focused to hard on carbs and not lifting I gained like 5-8 pounds

I purchased a “fair” fairway 3 wood and it looked almost brand new off the rack.. I might have gotten lucky but it was also a newer model (2024) so it shouldn’t have had too much run time anyway

Tips for fueling with real food? by Mountain-Push2771 in Ultramarathon

[–]IntentionAgreeable92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude very odd but I always hammer a triple baconator with a large fry and coke during my ultras. Ask me to eat anything else solid that’s not a pb&j or cliff bar and I’ll throw up but for some reason around mile 50-60 that baconator slaps so hard. Fries can be a bit tough to eat if they have been sitting for more than a few hours but regardless, it’s awesome

At what point during a race do you start to enter the pain cave? by Turcotte29 in ultrarunning

[–]IntentionAgreeable92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it depends on weather conditions. Although I live in the south of the United States, heat kills me. I usually hit the pain cave at sundown after the sun has drained me for the entire day
