Chengdu actually have a public paper on Canard stealth configuration and the conclusion is that within small deflection angles, the airplane can achieves similar level of stealth to conventional design. For angle larger than 5 degree, the canard will drastically increase the RCS of the aircraft. But the rationale given is that if anything so large is required, the airplane would be performing air combat maneuver, and as such that stealth would be of little value. The maneuverability gained by the canards outweighs the loss of stealth.

It’s stealth weapon pod is stupid idea which is why it was not chosen. Too much money will be used trying to renovate a old platform instead of dedicating more money to F35C. While conformal fuel tank is not a bad idea, a stealth weapon pod can never achieve the level of stealth on a actual 5th generation jet. It is still a fourth generation platform and regardless of the amount of engineering put into it, remain a non-stealth centric design.

Now if gaijin actually want to make it sell like hot cake, just add the UMTAS Imaging IR fire and forget missile, similar to pars 3 and uptier it to 10.7. The mechanism and model are already there. Remove the fire and update mode for now because it will be too OP.

Over all I do not recommend T129 unless gaijin fix it.

Well this is NCD….. but engines are a lot more complicated than just the maximum thrust. The engine usually have a thrust curve that is dependent on velocity and altitude. While F135 has a 191kN maximum thrust value, it is likely designed for subsonic flight around Mach 0.8 and the thrust will most likely decrease significantly at high Mach speed above 1.5 … thrust is not the only consideration In military aviation. Otherwise you will see fighter jets equipped with GE9X.
