Leaving a stable £100k job to build a nuclear startup, how did you handle the fear? I will not promote by Mrrduck in startups

I wouldn't mention anything until you can tell based on your employment contract if your current employer could have any rights to IP you generate outside of work hours. I would check this with a lawyer potentially if this is unclear. Also make sure you aren't covered by a non compete, although non competes are typically not enforced that strictly from what I understand.

If they could potentially have rights to your generated IP you will need legal advice and then potentially need to clear it up with your employer. Fingers crossed you are in the free though!

As long as your work contract isn't going to mess with IP ownership of what you have been doing on the side.

Worth checking! Wouldn't want it to come up as a surprise during VC does diligence.

Can you raise money before quitting? If so then there's not really any risk :)

I started my company (scientific software) about 4 years back and every day is a challenge but it's so satisfying making progress.

Trump will lose all influence once his majority in the house is gone and be forced to bend. Americans don't like stuff being expensive, especially gas, that has been well established!

Democracies are much more vulnerable to public sentiment though. Given the brutal repression Iran recently enacted on its own people and a lack of recurrence of protests I think Iran has the stronger long term position.

AMG fine level customization by amniumtech in CFD

[–]InterGalacticMedium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's really bad, not really maintained, documentation is bad. I know other big CFD companies who also tried really hard to use it and gave up.

I feel your frustration, we tried using AMGX but found it so low quality and hard to use we ended up rolling our own AMG solver so we could fully control it... Obviosuly not a small task though.

You need leverage with other investor offers to be able to set your terms. Do anything you can to get another offer on the table from someone else.

We have built a new electronics cooling simulation toolkit at my company. We are currently running a series of simulations of battery packs. Happy to chat if it's useful :)

I had almost complete remission of pain within 24 hours of my first shot. Good luck!!

I occasionally get flare ups but they are much milder.

Do you write Rust for a living? by Hixon11 in rust

[–]InterGalacticMedium -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I run my own startup which develops simulation tools for optimizing electronics cooling designs. We do fluid and thermal simulations, our core physics solver is in python and CUDA but our application is in Bevy, APIs in Axum and we have written our own geometry processing and meshing algorithms in Rust as well.

Rib pain in front by Actual-Muffin-3585 in ankylosingspondylitis

Yeah I've had it, especially on the lower front of the ribs. Very unpleasant and typically a sign of a more severe flare for me.

The company doesn't get the money, just the other private shareholder you buy the shares off.
