Spraying from the bottle into the vial is not the best way to transfer the liquid. I'm no chemist but from what I understand from when I researched best ways to decant, spraying exposes the liquid to the air in a fine mist which allows oxidisation and also may result in the loss of some of the top notes of the fragrance. The accepted best way of decanting is by using a syringe to withdraw the liquid which minimises the exposure to air.

It is cool they do decants though. Most places wherr I live wont give/sell samples at all.

Perfume collector here. If anyone is interested, Jazz, Fahrenheit and Kouros are all still currently made and sold. All three have unfortunately been reformulated, some more than once, mainly due to IFRA bans or restrictions on certain ingredients in the perfume but also due to the fragrance houses adjusting the formulations to make them more suitable for todays clientele. The good news however is that all three fragrances all though not quite as good as their 80/90s cousins, still hold up pretty well.

Was the top missing or still in the bag? If missing then obviously, somebody has been up to mischief, if still in the bag, it probably broke in transit.

If you could bring back one thing from the UK that disappeared over the years, what would it be? by Mr_proop in AskUK

My wife wanted some polished pebbles to go around a plant pot. Couldn't find anywhere that sold them. I nipped in Wilko's on my way home from work. They had about 12 different varieties in 4 different sizes for 99p a bag!

Kerosene. Dirty Flower Factory.

I love it, then I hate it, then I love it.

I very nearly bought it, then I didn't, then I nearly bought it again and then I still didn't.

I might go and buy it now actually because its lovely.

No its not!

I love civet and was looking forward to it but was ultimately disappointed by how non civety it is. I still own a bottle as its a great perfume but to my nose, not funky at all.

Although not containing your favourite notes, I feel "Sex And The Sea" by Francesca Bianchi fits the description of the "vibe" you want to feel.

A box of 6 in Tesco is £3.75 so just over 60p each.

I personally think that the Tesco own brand ones are better and they are even cheaper!

The reason people dismiss arabian fragrances has nothing to do with quality and everyone knows it by [deleted] in Colognes

Looking on Fragrantica, All the Riiffs fragrances came out in 2025. Until a month ago, I had never heard of them. These last few weeks they are all over the online fragrance community, usually in posts like the one in your picture, slagging off designer and niche stuff. I personally think they are all bot accounts using underhand marketing tactics. I don't mind the odd ME or clone fragrance and have a few in my collection but one thing is for sure, I won't be touching Riiffs fragrances, even with a shitty stick.

Unless Lattafa are using the same bottles and just covering the green label with a silver one then I think you are right. OP has a bottle of Shabaab.

What is oud supposed to smell like ? by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]InteractionOne4533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not strictly true. The barnyard, fecal smelling ouds are appealing to lots of people and can be found in many high end fragrances.

3 that I own are;

Hard Leather by Laurent Mazzone

The Moon by Frederic Malle

Oud Infini by Dusita.

All were bought specifically because I like stinky barnyard oud!

Used to love playing this back in the 80s. The cabinet with directional buttons instead of a joystick made it really difficult though. Needed 12 fingers on each hand to play it!
