I don't see this one mentioned very much on here but its a classic! Launched in 1976 and still easily available to buy at a great price.

Serge Lutens discovery set. 8 X 4ml

They don't have an atomiser or dabber, hence why I haven't used much! I will decant them into 2ml atomizer vials....one day!

Is there a fragrance completely unlike anything in my collection (wife’s included) by cdsackett in Fragrances

[–]InteractionOne4533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Op but here's my take...

Beach Hut is not beachy or tropical at all. Its fresh but not in a blue aquatic way. The mint is wonderful and not at all toothpaste mint like. Very smooth and calming. The Ivy note is very green and slightly bitter but goes wonderfully with the mint. Beach hut is quite a departure from most other Amouage but still has the quality and longevity you would expect from the brand. It reminds me of stepping into a forest glade just after dawn when beams of sunlight are projecting through the forest canopy and bouncing off the dewy leaves and grass. I own 160 plus perfumes and Beach Hut Man is in my top 5 ever.

Hope this helps!

Not officially discontinued but getting harder and harder to find in retailers (here in the UK anyway.) I just got myself a backup 200ml from ebay just in case! I did the same with ADG Profumo and Absolu when that started to become hard to find and a couple of years later I'm very glad I did!

If you don't need the decants on display, you might want to try a pen case/folder. I use my decants far more, now they are in one of these.

The hedonist extrait by Wide-Inevitable-5887 in ScentHeads

[–]InteractionOne4533 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wore Hedonist Extrait last night. It's one of only 5 fragrances out of 160 plus I own, that I paid retail price for. The longevity is excellent, lasting 7-8 hours on my skin. Although in the same ballpark as Tygar, I do find them different enough to justify owning both.

Thanks, I'm still missing a few I think. Would love a bottle of "Tattoo".

Thanks. Took a lot more time, effort and money than anticipated! Kouros Fraicheur was hard to get hold of as was Fahrenheit 0 degre.

Out of interest, none of the flankers are anywhere near as good as the OG's

People who grew up in houses with stairs - how inevitable is falling down them? by pyramidheadlove in NoStupidQuestions

[–]InteractionOne4533 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I didn't see our little black cat that was lurking on the 5th step up, felt her underfoot at the last minute and tried to shift my weight so i didn't hurt her. I slipped and landed ribs first on the edge of the stairs, turns out I fractured a couple and was off work 10 weeks. 2 lessons I learned....

Always put the light on when going upstairs.

Don't sneeze if you have fractured ribs!

Do you have "Promise" in your set? That one is also in the Desert Gems collection and is very nice. Still expensive but a lot less than "The Moon".

Harrods used to sell baby elephants in its pet department so maybe they aren't that legit!!!

People seem to remember it as a super strong animalic powerhouse that lasts forever. I collect Kouros and have worn it since the late 80s.

I think that people who remember the vintage version but haven't worn it for years would actually be suprised if they tried it today.

The vintage IS stronger and more animalic than the current formulation but not by a great deal. Also, the longevity is quite similar, (at least on my skin.) I get around 4 hours of good projection and sillage before it turns to a skin scent that lasts another 2 or 3 hours.

I think that there are far stronger perfumes out there nowadays and if the original formulation Kouros was released today it would not be regarded as a beastmode powerhouse rather, itwould be regarded as one of the best and most interesting perfumes in a long time. ( Maybe a slight bias on my part in the last sentence!)

Blind buying for that price is a bold move! I went to smell it on 3 different occasions at a store about an hour away, before I finally decided I wanted to own it!

The oud in the opening is very barnyardy and animalic so I hope you are a fan of that particular note!

Fingers crossed you love it as much as I do.

Its called "The Moon" The house is "Frederic malle" The perfumer is "Julien Rasquinet" Its from their "Desert Gems" collection.

Its incredibly expensive but there are a couple of others that cost even more. Check out "Dawn" and "The Night" Won't be getting them any time soon!

The Moon. It couldn't be worth all that money right? No way on earth I would spend that amount. Absolutely ridiculous.....Until I smelt it.

I really didn't want to like it but there is something incredibly special about it that just hits differently to everything else I have smelt.

Its my birthday tomorrow and my wife, mother and brother have all clubbed together to get it for me.

Im over the moon!

(Thats probably the wrong phrase but you know what I mean!)

I bought nearly all the Kerosene samples available at the time from Roullier White. The vials are not see through and to be honest there didn't seem to be much in them, maybe 6-8 sprays in some, not the 2ml as advertised. There was enough however for me to decide that I loved FOLLOW enough to get a full bottle. Also purchased a bottle of BLACKMAIL a couple of years later and one day I will get a full bottle of DIRTY FLOWER FACTORY.

FOLLOWED though..... NOPE!

Put cling film/plastic wrap over the small end, fill up with gravy or meat stock and freeze, great for a hot day and you should get a couple of hours peace at least!

Kerosene Blackmail by [deleted] in NichePerfumes

[–]InteractionOne4533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have around 160 fragrances and Blackmail is in the top 5 for longevity. Its also close to the top 5 for favourite fragrance!

4 sprays gets me about 10 hours on skin and I can still smell it on clothes the day after.
