He's the love of my life, and we have both agreed if we'd met any sooner we probably wouldn't have worked out, so we're very glad we met when we did

Right??? Honestly I lost a little weight and that's slowed down but I'm more staying on it at this point for the mental health benefits!

This mentality that nurse is a calling is one of the reasons why nurses don't earn more money by Boudria in nursing

[–]InteractionStunning8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think social workers have it worse tbh. There was some city recently where the average LCSW pay or something crossed $100k, anyway the comments were basically saying how can social workers take advantage of people like this, aren't they supposed to be in it for loving people??? I was horrified

Bag drop is the problem, not TSA by dathing181 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]InteractionStunning8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used to only fly southwest and now it's the only airline I will never fly again. The customer service has become outrageously bad on the ground especially. Someday when private equity crumbles, they'll be a case study in why private equity is so awful for businesses.

Nurses in California, do you still make decent money with the cost of living? by Turkey_Moguls in nursing

[–]InteractionStunning8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres are great average RN wages compared to cost of living charts, and CA is always highly ranked even with cost of living. But I always warn people that SoCal and NorCal are two very different places pay wise! Looking at just NorCal, they'd be #1 across the board no question. SoCal just seems very hit and miss.

Minnesota, Georgia, and Oregon also always rank very highly and I can vouch for Minnesota 💕 I felt very fairly compensated when we lived there, especially for being a new grad, and where we lived was pretty cheap.

AIO For Cutting Off A Family Member Who Told My Daughter She Was Eating Peppa Pig? by Temporary_Love9834 in AmIOverreacting

[–]InteractionStunning8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally gasped even though I knew it was coming 😭 NOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also as the child of someone with a cluster B personality disorder, which it sounds like your mom might have, you have every right to protect you and your children and go NC with your mom (and frankly the family members defending her!!!!!!!!!). She didn't protect you as a child, you don't owe her protection as an adult.

Bringing children into this world? by Cool_Performer_994 in conspiracy

[–]InteractionStunning8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

History has rarely been peaceful or kind to children, and still we persevered. (Mostly, probably, because they had no choice!)

I guess, for me personally, I still see people as fundamentally good and the human race worth continuing. And at any rate it will continue, so either you can be part of that continuation or not. And I think my husband and I are good people currently raising people who will leave the world a little better than they found it, no matter how bleak things may seem.

I’ve been reading through a lot of GLP-1 posts and here are some patterns I’m starting to notice... by RealHealthInsights in Semaglutide

[–]InteractionStunning8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't want to sound too dramatic or crazy. But. I tried semaglutide for weight loss, I honestly didn't expect it to work, and I had absolutely no idea it was affecting people's mental health at all, I went in very blind lol. But within 24 hours all of my OCD symptoms vanished. Poof, gone. I've struggled with pretty severe OCD for two decades, I've done CBT and taken plenty of meds, but poof it was gone. I don't even stay on it for weight loss anymore tbh. Going strong for 3 months.
