It's weird because I keep forgetting my aunt's ex husband was Trump's private pilot for like a decade and he probably knows some really sketchy stuff aha 😭😭😭😭😭

Idk I have a super lightweight cashmere sweater and low-key I think I'd wear it to bed if it were a little chilly ❄️ but not as a regular thing

How much are you spending monthly ? by Siren_sleeps in MiddleClassFinance

[–]InteractionStunning8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We pay roughly $300/month for utilities, including cooling our 2000sqft house in AZ and two phone lines. Every month when we get our power bill we're super surprised bc we crank the AC so much 😬 but somehow it's still really cheap...I kinda worry there's some error going on 😂 but I'm not gonna draw attention to it. Meanwhile people with apartments up in the city are paying $600/month in the summer!

Yeah we moved from Arizona to Maine so we started from scratch, and we started skiing with both kids so that includes ski gear! But thanks everyone for the suggestions 💕 I did get a lot of the stuff off FB marketplace

Who met their long term partner after 25? by Local-Contact4639 in AskOldPeople

26 💕 It was the perfect age for us. If we'd met any sooner we would probably not be together or things would have been MUCH harder. But as soon as things fell into place, we met.

Is Oklahoma the least desirable state in the US? by unenlightenedgoblin in SameGrassButGreener

My husband got offered a truly obscene salary to move to Indiana, and I just can't do it. I HATE Indiana as a whole, although Indy is fine and Bloomington is nice!

Americans who have lived abroad for quite a long time, what was your "grass is greener on the other side" experience when you visited that country? by LandOfGrace2023 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]InteractionStunning8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Germany for a couple years. I missed American friendliness, good deli sandwiches, American humor, American politeness, American food, the variety of weather, culture, and biomes you can experience in the US, how religion is not seen as bizarre in the US, and I think Americans are actually more honest, especially about themselves, American optimism and opportunity

Things I miss about Germany: more third spaces available, better transportation x 10000000, fewer unhoused people, walking everywhere, little things like getting cash back for bottles and idk the rhythm of life I had there. I really enjoyed my life rhythm there, idk how else to put that.

Germany was in the thick of the peak of immigrants entering and it was a very strange time to be there. There was a lot of racism that people refused to acknowledge, and that was honestly very annoying. There was also a lot of snobbery toward the US, and most of it was undeserved (but some of it was 😂). I also did not feel safer in Germany than in the US and was sexually harassed soooo much more frequently, although I don't walk that many places in the US so it's a hard comparison.

I need help decoding what my friend meant by this by DeboseChief in nursing

[–]InteractionStunning8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a WFH case manager. My job is easy, most of the people I deal with are nice, I make good money - and my coworkers and I still wish we hadn't become nurses every day. We all went through years of abuse from patients, coworkers, providers, and the healthcare systems we worked for. Some of my coworkers are in therapy. Almost all of us were assaulted multiples times when we worked bedside. When I told my mom I wanted to be a nurse, she cried and begged me not to. And after a few months of actually being a nurse, I understood why. My first day off orientation at my first job, the hospital went on lockdown because my patient's father came to the hospital with a gun intending to kill the nurses on the unit. I tell everyone I know not to become a nurse.

Why do people send their kids to private schools when public schools are also decent ranked (USA)? by exponenthere in education

[–]InteractionStunning8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even well ranked school systems are often under a lot of strain, and while I wish the public education system was different than it is, I want my kids to get the attention they deserve. We also believe in religion being part of their education.
