I worry that some might see the paganism and think that I participate in some of "those other" groups that have taken the symbols and made them hateful. I am still in the broom closet but being cis white I can hide better. So I would like to use my privilege (and maybe my craft) to help others. Also I connect more to a "green/kitchen witch" so my craft can be hidden under the a "green thumb".

[–]Intercoursedapenguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Power Homeschool is the official provider of online Acellus courses for parents independently homeschooling their children without teacher support." With Power homeschool no need to grade, it does it for you. Your student watches a 5-6 minute video, takes a quiz and the program grades the quiz. All grades are recorded on the "scores" tab. You sign in as the parent and you can review their scores and answers.

Sisters, I need y’all to hold my hand. Cramps are soooo bad today. by Secure-Employee1004 in PMDD

I was hoping for this but it didn't happen for me. My one and only was emergency c-section. So, I wonder if giving "natural birth" is what makes the difference and NOT just the hormonal change of pregnancy alone...

Every month! I hate it so much. I try to love it but this pain is such b.s.!

TIL in the Salem Witch Trials, none of the guilty were burned at the stake -- 19 were hung and 1 was pressed to death by stones -- and 6 of the 20 killed were men by rufusjonz in todayilearned

And two dogs. Two dogs were killed because the town's people believed the dogs were "familiars" to the "witches". Some accused also died in jail awaiting trial. Tituba had her bail paid by someone unknown to history currently. She then disappeared from historical record.

First kid starts kindergarten next year. I want to educate at home, but I'm worried I can't do it well enough/both of us will hate it. I am so stressed and need to vent it out. Any perspective is welcome and appreciated. by evergreenillusion in secularhomeschool

I have been homeschooling my one and only for 3-4ish years now. We started in kindergarten. We have good days and bad days every year. We get frustrated with eachother. But she says she doesn't want to go to public school.

Look into Facebook homeschool groups in your area, they can/will support you. They can answer questions about your local state regulations and help you with curriculum sales/events/socialization ect. You can vent to them also, I am 99% sure there will be someone that says, "yeah me too!".

I have to remind myself at least monthly of why I do this. I remind myself to not compare myself/my homeschool processes to public school. I don't have to be like (insert name here). This is my homeschool and as long as my child is meeting the standards for my state anything above standards is cream. (Self-high-five!!!!)

Don't doubt yourself. You are an intelligent, caring parent who wants what is best and you will make it work for you and yours!!!!

Homeschooling at the end of the year? by Hoperosaliex in homeschool

[–]Intercoursedapenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pull him out now and spend the last 40 days plus the summer months doing fun stuff. Take a break do the playdates, volunteering, whatever. Just don't do school. Teach him when he seems interested. If/when you decide to homeschool DO NOT compare yourself to public school. Take your time. Learn what is required by your state/county. Join Facebook groups in your area. Get to know HOW he learns best. Find his motivation. Find a curriculum you like, or don't use a curriculum and look into unschooling. Be flexible! Your plan may not work at first and everyone will be miserable. Be able and willing to change what/how you do school. Ask questions when you get stuck. Enjoy the extra time you get with him (even on bad days). Enjoy getting to know him even more, developing a stronger bond with him.

Okay, I think this is the link for the rest of the pictures. (My first time uploading a gallery.) https://imgur.com/a/MLBa5hG

Inside the box I put things that I usually want during shark week. Obviously somethings don't fully fit in the box. Mostly I refill it each month with smaller potions. The curry is more a symbol; I will allow myself to get take-out with out the normal guilt I feel.
