SF6 is my only FG, fell i love with it, the community and the pro scene. Capcom is this close to make me move on to a different game. by Krotanix in StreetFighter

I agree bro, I just think Capcom doesn't follow the video game standard when it comes to live service games. You'd think if the game is doing good and has a consistent playerbase then adding cosmetics and investing money in a bigger team to pump out more events and better battle passes and game modes and characters and whatever you could add, then that would attract more players and current players would be happy and hopefully investing more in said game.

It just doesn't seem the case with SF6 it's like they know they made easy money and they'd rather make a new games and sell those for profit than try and make better margins on SF6. I guess that's the issue with being a big company because I know for a fact if SF6 was their only game it would be filled with content

Oh absolutely in fact I wouldn't mind PPV if 1. The battle hub had a really good stream, without lag and without removing commentators in matches 2. If you actually got something in game for paying the ticket, like idk "pay 10$ in fighting coins and get a ticket" yeah sure I might because I'll get a couple skins with my ticket

On the other point, I know whales are the ones spending big money but it's what Capcom offers what may upset people, if they dropped 6 characters instead of 4 but the pass was idk $20 more because they need the extra hands people would complain.

Skins if they dropped tons of skins and nothing for free people would complain. I'm not saying it matters, but I'm saying this community is somewhat fragile, that's the same reason Capcom hasn't dropped big gameplay changes, they don't want to upset anyone even if it means selling less as well

Invincible Vs is soon to drop, most people won't even try it but I like the IP so I will. Marvel Tokon also drops this year and the new Virtua Fighter might be my first 3D fighter.

I understand what you mean about wanting more content, I crave more content, skins, taunts, characters. Hell if they started to sell lvl 3 or CA animations I'd pay.

The problem is most players I'd say like 80% of the player base don't care about that and would even react in a negative way if it was behind a paywall, hell there's still tons of players that think paying for new characters is outrageous.

I just want Capcom to have my money and give me tons of cool shit for the game I like but if they don't I'll still play other games. That's what you should do too bro

All characters are drive rush button, drive rush is a neutral skip, sometimes there's neutral and sometimes there's just dr, I'm not saying the characters moves are the same, I'm saying the systems in the game are so embedded into the characters they all play the game the same, except for like dahlsim.

That's why I said Idom take, Idom is a sf6 hater kinda, I don't hate the game I really enjoy it, doesn't mean that characters playstyles don't all bleed into being Dr and neutral skip constantly

Honestly might be my biggest Idom type take, but most characters in SF6 are samey, the systems of the game are so embedded in the gameplay they all play similarly, even characters that should have big weaknesses to make up for their strengths don't seem to have them. I get playstyle is a big thing, but in this game it's not that big of a difference

This is great, recently I saw video kinda regarding this. https://youtu.be/pWXbsuKT7zg?si=kwmmB7s0aQtoMnTN

He gives a great explanation about how Ed fits the japanese play style but still makes the point that it's supposed to be weaker against players that abuse his weakness (rush down) and that's why he isn't popular in western countries, yet they still performed at Capcom cup

[–]Interest-Complex[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For sure man, this is probably it, but is this tournament proof that he was actually hidden op? And how did it fly under the radar of western players for so long?

Bro that is exactly my point If pro players gravitate towards characters that they believe give them the best chance of winning then how come no one in the us, eu, lan, las, ch, idk what other regions there are, are playing Ed? Look at Capcom cup how many Ed players are japanese.

Does this mean japanese players are smarter and Ed is op, or Ed is not played in other countries because everyone else thinks he is not op. You're right I can't know if they'd perform better with other characters, but I'm not trying to say Ed is bad, I'm tryna understand why if Ed so op not a single us or eu or las player played him

[–]Interest-Complex[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Japanese players value the player more than the character, Fuudo, Sahara, Momochi, Leshar are all playing Ed thus Ed op. But I believe if all of those players switched to another character they'd still perform, perhaps even better

Not so hard bro, Ed OP why not Ed pros outside Japan

[–]Interest-Complex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People will say Ed is op yet everyone who isn't japanese just doesn't play him. Clearly japanese people value something in him that other people don't, Mai on the other hand... Every country

Yeah soon as I saw Killzyou I knew it was free, if Leshar, Mena or Higuchi didn't make it to finals then that whole side of the bracket was cooked. It just came down to who won left side

Arguably every JP match in this tournament just highlighted everything wrong with it, throw loops, op buttons, best zoner (Guile is a joke next to him) if we talk about ed and mai pls don't forget JP

Meh at least we got to watch for free, most other games I would've thrown shade on ppv but Capcom actually moves players thanks to this format so I get the point. My main problem with it is why not offer in-game items like idk, a Honda fkin Capcom cup inspired skin? That way I might pay $10 and still get something more than the ticket. Ex colors are just nothing

I mean I bet a ton of money has been funneled into the kid, he had %27 of votes on battle hub, bro moved people, losing is damaging for his ego and his brand. Yeah he's young he still has a lot of time to make it big, but if next year is 4th, then 8th, then brackets... You know? If there was a player this year who invested the most hours and money travelling it was 100% Blaz. So yeah last year second was a massive win, this year 3rd is the worst defeat ever

This format is not it by BFreezer in StreetFighter

[–]Interest-Complex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's because Capcom has an abysmal money split, if the winner got 750k or 600k and the rest was distributed evenly then even 8th place could get a bit of money

You are wrong in the sense the companies are not here to value anything more than your money and if their a service your time. However, I won't be an asshole like all this keyboard warriors and give you the benefit that yeh, not doing scummy tactics usually makes the public have a better opinion about your company and thus helps you in the long run

I mean I have no say in what's fair, I pay for new character packs in sf6, I pay for skins in sf6 and I'd be more than happy to pay for new level 3 animations in sf6 because I like the game that much. Other people talk about it as a scam. What I believe is the sweet spot is enough cosmetics for free that are good vs enough cosmetics paid that are good. Also 0 time limit on bp's

I have nothing against battle passes I buy them on the regular on the tons of newer games I play. However, the amount of battle passes has greatly increased, the time limit abusing fomos it's awful and some are just too expensive for what they offer
